The Alpha Strike game had players take on the role of a Steiner Scout Force (size 4 only, naturally) trying to make their way through a hostile city dense with buildings and denser with quick moving pirates! The Aces Snowblind Pirate commander deck got to strut its stuff as the players sent a Cyclops too far ahead only to get pounced on by half a company of lights and mediums. From there on it was a desperate knife fight as the Lyrans disintegrated target after target but never could quite make it across to their objectives before they suffered critical losses. Blood was shed on both sides, but victory today went to the Aces deck for its masterful use of cover and ambush tactics that kept the players pinned!

The Classic game was one massive four neoprene sized combined arms brawl including ‘Mechs, tanks, battle armor, artillery, VTOLs, and Aerospace fighters! A battle for control of local SAM sites to help control the skies quickly devolved into chaos as both sides found themselves caught up in the spiraling melee! Just a couple examples of the fracas, a Nightsky 6S pushed itself too far running into position to fire its array of ER medium lasers and shutdown at the worst possible point, proceeding to take a flurry of incoming fire including one comically critical small laser that scored a through-armour crit and sheared its leg clean off! Meanwhile a Summoner got TAG’d by an enemy VTOL and received not one but four Homing Arrow IVs for its trouble, essentially taking it from pristine to forced withdrawal before it was able to fire shot. The game ended with planes knocked out of the air, ‘Mechs knocked off their feet, pilots knocked out, and players satisfied with their measure of pure chaos energy!

Congratulations this week go to Carter who won this week’s prize ‘Mech of a Stalker 8S! Members of the Wednesday Warriors Mercenary Battalion are eligible to win a prize every week!

A Superheavy assault and some convoys in need of rescue – or destruction – tonight at Focht’s Network Weekly Wednesday Armored Combat! Multiple games of Classic and Alpha Strike had players on their toes and making some devastating rolls!

The Alpha Strike game had players face the Snowblind Aces decks in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse as they battled for control of valuable Focht GPT server farms. Those who controlled the servers were able to use them to seize control of the automated monstrosity that is the dreaded superheavy tripod MetroMech! The players took the lead early on, seizing control of the supersized trash can and using its Long Tom to annihilate the Aces’ fastest unit, a hapless Gunsmith. And then from there it was a slaughter. The Aces deck struggled to reorganize, and did manage to wipe out squad after squad of the players’ Battle Armor, but it cost them literally everything as the players maintained control of the MetroMech and managed a total table wipe with most of their force still intact. Always nice to see a clear human victory!

The Classic games had players divide into teams either attacking or escorting a convoy across a dangerous no man’s land. At one table, a truly blessed Conjurer 3 put its hard hitting lasers and Targeting Computer to work, nailing the cockpits on an enemy Mad Dog and a Turkina, removing an astonishing amount of BV from its enemy’s team in a short amount of time. At another table a Timber Wolf with a Supercharger rushed in to overwhelm an enemy Warhammer only to whiff the entire volley, and left itself open to a devastating attack from an enemy Archer to boot! That game came right down to the wire with the attackers stopping the last convoy vehicle right at the buzzer; and as a bonus made the second game in a row where that player and that specific Archer nabbed a kill with its rear-lasers. Does “Backshot” make for a cool callsign?

Congratulations this week go to Andrew H who won this week’s prize ‘Mech of The Bounty Hunter’s Marauder II! Members of the Wednesday Warriors Mercenary Battalion are eligible to win a prize every week!

Chaos reigned at Classic Solaris and the Somerset Strikers tonight at Focht’s Network Weekly Wednesday Armored Combat! Multiple games of Classic and Alpha Strike had players competing for glory and daring to refuse batchalls!

The game continues next week, and we want you in on the action! Battle-hardened veterans and courageous new hotshots are equally wanted and welcome!

The Alpha Strike game had players take on the role of our favourite animated heroes (and a point-supporting lance of Fourteenth Donegal Guards) to try and whisk away some Loki agents under the noses of the Aces decks’ Falcon’s Claws and Nicolai Malthus himself! Some of the Donegal ‘Mechs managed to make it away with two of the agents, but the third died a fiery death as Valten Ryder’s Bushwacker took a Hail Mary indirect LRM volley from Kristen Redmond’s Mad Dog. The remainder of the match was a brutal battle between the two forces that saw some almost eerie parallels to the show. The Axman cleaved the Mad Dog in two just like in the opening credits, and in a desperate attempt to save his fellows Ciro got his Wolfhound caught out of position and destroyed by Nicolai’s Summoner. A bloody game all around, but overall a victory for the players. Next time, Adam Steiner…next time.

The Classic games had players take their turn on the Solaris Arenas in a massive team free for all. At one table, a heroic Thunder Hawk was stripped off all its centre torso armour, front and rear, with a fair amount of damage to its limbs as well, and just would not die! It eventually went down, got up, fell again, got up again and moved before falling AGAIN, but this time in position to down an enemy Trebuchet with a propped prone Gauss round. It had but a brief moment to revel in the victory before being destroyed in possibly the most humiliating way possible: an enemy Archer passed it on its way to another target and used its rear lasers to finally put the Thunder Hawk down and out. At another table, a Shadow Cat menaced an UrbanMech having apparently never read the memes. Needless to say the Urbie put an AC/20 round directly through the Shadow Cat’s face for its trouble before moving on to other targets that knew to be more wary of the little trashcan. Meanwhile at the same table, a Vindicator somehow managed to DFA a Fire Moth (needing an 11 to hit!), and a Summoner got annihilated in a single turn by a Stormcrow that melted its centre torso armor and a Hellbringer F that put its pair of LB-10 X Autocannons right into the hole reducing its centre crits to jelly. The crowd absolutely got their money’s worth at this one!

Congratulations this week go to Steve who won this week’s prize ‘Mech of an Exterminator! Members of the Wednesday Warriors Mercenary Battalion are eligible to win a prize every week!
