An exciting message from Paul and Jesse about the future of Focht's!

Happy everyone!

We here at Focht’s Network are excited for the beginning of a new chapter for us, and also for all of you who are part of this amazing community that we’ve built together. After several successful years operating as the Events Team for Six Sides of Gaming, we are thrilled to announce that we are transitioning into an independent organization!

Our partnership with Six Sides has been invaluable, and we will of course continue to stay in touch with our friends and family there. Together we accomplished great things and had an incredible run that shaped who and what we are today. We are grateful for all the opportunities we had and every success that we shared. Now however, it is time for the next step. Going independent means more freedom, more creativity, and more opportunities to bring fresh ideas, new projects, and bigger and better events and experiences to the world of Big Stompy Robots; and beyond!

To everyone who has been with us so far, we want to say thank you. Your support has fueled our growth, and now it’s fueling our future and we can’t wait to show you what’s coming next. Keep an eye on these spaces as we hope to have more exciting news to share with you shortly! Until then, keep your reactors hot and standby for drop!

See you soon!
- Paul and Jesse

Battling it out for prize money and mysterious BattleMechs from beyond the Periphery tonight at Focht’s Network Weekly Wednesday Armored Combat! Multiple games of Classic and Alpha Strike had players either lacing up their gladiator sandals or living out the initial Clan Invasion, and who’s to say which was more dangerous!

The game continues next week, and we want you in on the action! Battle-hardened veterans and courageous new hotshots are equally wanted and welcome!

Check us out on Discord for more details: https://discord.gg/9rjKhWVSgE

The Alpha Strike game had two teams of players competing to extract a VIP who’d pay anyone who could get her off world in a hurry. Both teams were right in the thick of it when Clan Ghost Bear rolled in and began issuing challenges. Both teams elected to try and respect zellbrigen to keep a modicum of control over the situation, and one team managed to extract the VIP with a Maxim Hover Transport under a hail of PPC fire! The teams then closed ranks to earn additional points for kills against the Clanners, scoring more than a couple just as the game came to a close. Casualties were high, but the mission was complete!

The Classic games meanwhile were a delightful Solaris melee that would have had Duncan Fisher himself up and roaring with approval. At one table a Mantis with a Lance managed to perform a charge for its full movement of 20 hexes to maximize damage – only to take an AC/20 to the face, taking it out before it could hit! Meanwhile a Night Gyr put in an incredible performance, losing nearly every pip of armor it had without going down essentially soaking damage to the point where the pilot would have almost preferred to go down. A team of a Mad Cat III and Mk IV tore things up at another table where a Goliath was holding court until it lost one of its legs. Overall, everyone put on a great show for the adoring crowd!

Congratulations this week go to Stewart who won this week’s prize ‘Mech of a Legionnaire! Members of the Wednesday Warriors Mercenary Battalion are eligible to win a prize every week!

We’re playing a weekly casual game currently held at Hairy Tarantula in midtown Toronto and would love to see you there! We’ve got a core crew of fast friends reinforced by casual newcomers who are always welcome to join! All are equally welcome to come and learn or come and show us what they’ve got!

Waiting desperately for reinforcements that may never come tonight at Focht’s Network Weekly Wednesday Armored Combat! Multiple games of Classic and Alpha Strike had players leaning rolling for random support and cursing their dice like never before as their results could signal an immediate swing or create a crushing despair!

The Alpha Strike game had two teams of players facing off with some expensive units that made for a smaller than average deployment for this the “larger” of the two styles of game! The slightly more numerous Red Team took advantage over the smaller but highly-skilled Black Team and while the game was close for many rounds, Red Team soon pulled ahead until Black Team had only a Fire Moth left in the game. With more reinforcements on the way but the dice just not cooperating, the Black Team Fire Moth played an incredible game of hide and seek and shoot, single-handedly downing an enemy Black Lanner and Arctic Cheetah over several rounds and even scoring a couple more points before ultimately being hunted down. A decisive Red Team victory, but MVP goes to the Black Team players for a truly excellent play!

The Classic games meanwhile had attacking in the same scenario, with the randomly rolled reinforcements causing some major upsets. At one table, one team pulled ahead as a BattleMaster K4 landed a Snub-Nose PPC shot that took the head off an enemy Griffin and opened a hole in the enemy lines. That team had to double back with a Hellbringer heroically holding off multiple units for most of the game, all the while hoping for the reinforcement of a Blood Asp that never came. At the second table, one team had a similar holdout with a Quazimodo trying to pin down an entire enemy lance whose reinforcements arrived almost immediately. Turn after turn they did their best to hang on until the odds finally caught up to their favour, most notably with the appearance of a Regent A that stalked on to the map Capacitors charged and ready to turn the tide. Even spread out, that 60 damage does a lot of hurt!

Congratulations this week go to André who won this week’s prize ‘Mech of an Ostsol! Members of the Wednesday Warriors Mercenary Battalion are eligible to win a prize every week!
