Specialty ‘Mechs & Solaris shenanigans tonight at Focht’s Network Weekly Wednesday Armored Combat! Multiple games of Classic and Alpha Strike had players tweaking for weird and rare tech’ to see where it would take them; and what they could claim as their own!
The game continues next week, and we want you in on the action! Battle-hardened veterans and courageous new hotshots are equally wanted and welcome!

The Alpha Strike game saw players leap into the fray in team free-for-alls of four or five ‘Mechs each across five teams. As one team of Solaris specials found themselves crashing like a wave against the rock of a brutal Lyran Berserker and friends, several teams of heavy Clan ‘Mechs poured excessively high dice rolls into equally excessive armour protection. As a Dire Wolf and Executioner pair lagged behind their fellows, a Timber Wolf and Nova managed to score some kills before being overwhelmed themselves. Points were scored, but the Lyran player crushed her opponent and then began raining long range fire down upon the Clan morass from afar, pulling well ahead in points to take the game!
The Classic games saw desperate fighting over specifically designated prize ‘Mechs with deadly results! At one table a Lao Hu absolutely devastated a Scarabus with a boxcars on the cluster roll for an LB 20-X, and then switched over to single slug the following turn for a brutal head shot ex*****on. The same table saw one side’s prize ‘Mech Thunderbolt take an ATM head shot (oops, they hit in sixes now! Tough break!) that wasn’t a kill but sent it crashing to the ground, only to be saved by the bell of store closing. At another table, two Capellan snipers in the form of another Lao Hu variant and a Tian-Zong managed to mirror each other and core one another with Gauss rifles, while not one but two Great Turtles stalked the battlefield daring anyone to waste shots against them! Pity the poor Jackalope pilot who dashed by and managed an incredible two simultaneous head shots, only to recall that not only did the Turtle’s hardened armour prevent the shots from going through, but the torso-mounted cockpit meant they didn’t matter anyway. Better luck next time!
Congratulations this week go to Lucas who won this week’s prize ‘Mech of an Akuma! Members of the Wednesday Warriors Mercenary Battalion are eligible to win a prize every week!
