His parents worked in atomic energy research. Dinner table conversations were about pushing the edge of technology and the societal implications that came with it.

He had a Vic 20. Coded his software and recorded it on a cassette player so he could work on it later.

Started his career embedded in a client's accounting department. Moved through journal entries, forecasting, and strategy.

Spent nearly two decades at one of Canada's major banks. From IT operations to enterprise leadership. From keeping systems up to shaping how technology delivers value.

Today: Leading infrastructure and modernization at scale. Championing Canada's first generative AI code of conduct. And serving on the board of the Geneva Centre for Autism - because giving back isn't optional.

March 10th. His story.

This one’s about the people who shape us - and the communities we build along the way.

Our guest, Bindhu Alvar Thiruvenkadathan (AT) grew up in India with a single mother who showed her that education can be a generational force - something that lifts not just one person, but everyone connected to them.

In this episode, Bindhu opens up about:
• The role her mother and community played in shaping her
• Why she believes leadership is a “team sport” passed from one generation to the next
• How moving across the world taught her to fully immerse herself wherever she goes
• The responsibility leaders have to create safe, supportive environments - especially for rising talent
• Why mentorship isn’t a “nice-to-have”, it’s a “need-to-have”
• The cultural values that guide how she leads, raises her daughter, and shows up for her teams

This isn’t a story about climbing ladders. It’s a story about legacy, belonging, and the power of community to shape a leader’s heart.

Her mom says she was “a handful” as a kid. Probably because she’d climb up and take apart ceiling fans just to see how they worked. Touched wires she definitely shouldn’t have. Got shocked. Fell off. Kept going.

She grew up with a single mom, a teacher who taught her that education could propel anyone, no matter where they started.

Until Grade 12, she wanted to be an oncologist. Then she made a decision that changed everything. She pivoted to computer science engineering. She never looked back.
Later, she did the thing everyone told her not to do: moved into sales. In a new country. Without a network. She built one anyway.

Today, she's the CIO, Wealth Management Technology at a major Canadian bank. She sits on multiple boards. She’s passionate about mentorship. And she’s proving that real leadership isn’t just about getting ahead - it’s about bringing others along.

She’s our next guest on The Iteration Lab.

International Mother Language Day is a reminder that language shapes perspective, and perspective shapes innovation.

When teams bring different voices to the table insights become sharper, and impact becomes broader.

We're grateful for the voices that make stronger. 🌍

He started out in New York finance - 100-hour weeks, Fortune 500 clients, the whole thing. But what defines him most isn’t the Wall Street résumé.

It’s the builder’s story.

When he stepped in to lead a $2B fintech unicorn, the company was at an inflection point. Most people would’ve hesitated. He leaned in.

Week after week, he flew between Connecticut and Toronto, living out of a suitcase while helping guide an organizational reset.

He’s a dad of four. A believer in “walking through walls.” And a leader who shows that resilience isn’t just for founders - it’s required of CEOs too.

He’s our next guest on The Iteration Lab.

Champions rise every quarter, and some leave a mark on the whole year.

Join us in celebrating our Q4 Champions - Ali Din and Jorge Loayza, and our 2025 Champion of the Year - Chad Levick. 🏆

We could list the wins, but what stands out more is the way they worked: with consistency, clarity, and purpose - the kind of contribution that elevates the whole team.

Can’t wait to see what great things we’ll build together this year.
