2FA: Annoying? Occasionally. Worth it? Always.
We all want our accounts to be secure—but let’s be honest: that extra verification step can feel like a speed bump on a Monday morning.
Still, Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) remains one of the most effective tools in the cybersecurity toolbox.

Why? Because passwords alone just don’t cut it anymore. Data breaches, phishing attacks, credential stuffing—these aren’t rare events, they’re daily occurrences.
✅ 2FA drastically reduces the risk of unauthorized access

✅ It's simple to enable on most platforms

✅ It buys you precious time—and peace of mind
Yes, it takes a few extra seconds.

Yes, it’s frustrating when your code expires mid-type.

But also—yes, it’s 100% worth it.
Cybersecurity isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being harder to hack than the next guy.
So: Enable 2FA. Educate your team. And take that extra step—it might be the one that stops an attack in its tracks.

🚀 Employee Spotlight: Connor – Our IT Hero (and Golf Enthusiast!)

Connor joined Fort44 a little over two years ago, and he’s been swinging for the fences ever since. When he’s not perfecting his golf game, you’ll find him in full Fort44 gear—sometimes with his hair even combed—playing IT hero to our clients.

As part of our Service Desk, Connor is the first line of defence, often braving the frontlines of tech troubles. Whether it’s a server hiccup, a password crisis, or just a printer having an existential meltdown, Connor handles it all with a calm attitude and a genuine desire to make our clients’ day just a little bit better.

Thanks for being an essential part of the Fort44 team, Connor! We’re grateful for your dedication… and your (mostly) combed hair. 😉

Today’s a great reminder: your first line of defence online is a strong, secure password.
In a world where cyber threats are always evolving, protecting your digital identity starts with a few simple habits:
✅ Use strong, unique passwords for every account
✅ Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) wherever possible - and question web-based services which don't offer MFA protection
✅ Consider a password manager to ensure you have healthy password habits. Our favourite is 1Password.
Remember: it only takes one weak password to create a big problem. Be vigilant, stay secure, and make good password hygiene a daily habit...don't wait until you've been compromised to start doing the right things.

🎉 Congratulations, Carson 🎉

It is a bittersweet time here at Fort44 this week. This is Carson's last week as he wraps up his co-op term with us. We want to recognize the awesome attitude, adaptable nature and enthusiasm he brought to the team over the past 4 months.

During his time here, Carson showed great initiative and a willingness to learn. He will definitely be missed, but we are excited for what lies ahead for him.
