Your audience will not act if you don't clarify what you want them to do. 🚫

Most home pages are filled with many call-to-actions because they aim to educate your visitors about your brand and company as a whole.

However, it's still essential to make your primary call to action clear on your home page because you are a business at the end of the day, and your relationship with your visitors is transactional. πŸ’³

People aren't going to your website to be best friends. They want to know if you can solve their problem. πŸ’―

Suppose you've successfully got their attention, generated interest and created desire. In that case, your visitors must understand how they can get what you offer.

Do they need to BUY? SCHEDULE A CALL? BOOK AN APPOINTMENT? Whatever it is, make it clear. βœ…

The best places to put your primary call to action are on the top right corner and centre "above the fold" or the "hero" or "feature" section. Make the call to action prominent.

It's okay if visitors don't take you up on that offer right away (very unlikely they will), but it's there for them to know that you mean business.

The rest of your website should do an excellent job of marketing your offer so that you can eventually get your prospects to do business with you. πŸ™Œ

We are now in the "D" section of the AIDA marketing funnel: stirring desire.

If you believe someone will genuinely benefit from your product or service, then now it's about clearly communicating your ability to fulfill their expectations.

If you fail to create desire, your visitors will not have reason to trust you and are unlikely to take any action. Would you blindly trust a stranger? πŸ€”

They need to be enlightened. πŸ’‘

Naturally, your visitors will be skeptical about you. Creating desire is about building trust and removing barriers in your prospect's mind to make a decision.

Here are several ways to create desire:
β€’ Explain how your product works (educate)
β€’ Show them how you've helped similar clients (testimonials/case studies/social media reviews)
β€’ Display logos/badges or industry brands that have trusted you
β€’ Display impressive statistics (for the numbers people)

Put yourself in the shoes of your ideal customer and ask yourself,

"Why should I trust this person?"
"How does this thing work?"
"Who else has used this product? What was their experience?"
"How can this improve my life?"
"How do I get started?"

Once you've hooked in your audience with that irresistible headline/image/video, it's time to make them lean in a bit closer πŸ”

Marketing is about talking to people who are actually interested in what you have to offer.

This is why having data on your audience is so valuable. The more information you have about your prospects, the more attractive you can make your offer.

Speak to their biggest pain point. Ask yourself, "what's keeping my ideal customers up at night?" πŸ˜–

Then craft an offer that provides a quick and easy solution 😁

Empathize with your audience. Make sure the copy and images convey a deep understanding of their problem and circumstances.

Afterwards, offer something helpful to relieve their pain.

Most people are interested in discovering how to overcome their obstacles to live a better life πŸ™Œ

If you're an unfamiliar brand, it's important to get your audience's attention and make sure they know you exist.

Koodoo introduced itself years ago with a campaign that caught my attention. I truly enjoyed watching those commercials because they were highly entertaining.

What can you do to differentiate yourself? How can you be memorable?

Basically, don't be boring. Be helpful and entertaining!

Remember, most people are on autopilot. 😴

AIDA stands for ATTENTION, INTEREST, DESIRE, ACTION.

The tips for this week will touch on each piece of the funnel, but here's an overview.

This is a proven method that can work for entire marketing campaigns, single designs, websites, landing pages and more.

😯 ATTENTION: Your piece should be captivating enough for your audience to want to read more. Make sure your headlines are compelling, that your images are eye-catching, that your video is exciting, and that your message is something remarkable.

πŸ€” INTEREST: Generate interest by empathizing with your target audience. Show them you understand their pain, and then show them how you can help them solve their problem.

πŸ˜ƒ DESIRE: Make an offer they can't refuse. Show them how their lives would be better by using your product/service. Highlight the pitfalls they would avoid.

Grids are here to save the day! πŸ’ͺ

We recommend using a 12-column grid for websites. It's versatile enough to handle any amount of content.

For websites, we use Adobe XD. Hitting CMD + SHIFT + " will conveniently display one for you on the canvas.

For print and digital graphics, you create a grid using guides or grids.

Primary content that need attention can take up 12 columns (like a feature banner), while secondary content can take up 4 columns. Think about your hierarchy and use grids accordingly.
