Maybe it isn’t the date.
If your bull sale average has been disappointing, it’s easy to look at the calendar.
“Maybe we should move our sale into February.”
“Maybe March buyers are spending more.”
“Maybe by April, the money is already gone.”
And the numbers seem to support the theory.
In the 2026 sales tracked by The Ringside Report, February bulls averaged $14,402.
April bulls averaged $13,119.
A difference of $1,283 per bull.
But here’s the more useful question:
Was it really the month?
Or was it the cattle?
The customer base?
The marketing?
The reputation of the program?
The number of bidders?
The breed?
The region?
The size of the offering?
Moving your sale date is easy.
Understanding why your cattle sold for what they did is harder.
And a lot more valuable.
That’s the reason for The Ringside Report.
Not to tell breeders when to sell.
To give them enough information to ask better questions.
