⚠️ Caution with ACH payments in QuickBooks Online
Real life scenario that happened to a client

A business accepted an ACH (bank transfer) as a project deposit. The funds sat in their account for ~3 weeks. Business ordered materials and began work. Then the customer reversed the transaction, and the full amount was pulled back out of the account
Unfortunately, there was no protection against the reversal—even after the funds had cleared and work had started.

Takeaway:
ACH deposits can still be reversed after the fact. Consider this risk before relying on them for project deposits.

QuickBooks Online tip you might be underusing 👀
How many of you actually use the QBO Audit Log?
It’s a lifesaver when something looks off and you need answers fast.
✅ Check who changed a transaction
✅ See when it was originally entered✅ View all edits (including reconciliation changes)

Where to find it:
Inside a transaction → More → Audit history
Or go to Reports → Standard Reports → Audit Log

And for that moment when something was accidentally deleted and no one knows how…
The Audit Log lets you find the deleted transaction details so you can re‑create it.
Not reversible — but definitely recoverable.
If you’re troubleshooting QBO issues and not using this, you’re making life harder than it needs to be.
