Three employees at a Kamloops Denny's allegedly stole over $500K from the restaurant's electronic tip system. One person took $495K over two years before anyone noticed.

Then, weeks later, the platform behind that tip system (XTM/Everyday Payments) collapsed. Restaurants across BC started reporting money missing from their accounts. Tens of millions gone. The Bank of Canada stepped in. The company is now in insolvency proceedings.

I work with restaurant operators every day. What stands out to me isn't the dollar amounts. It's that these systems were running on autopilot with nobody checking. No anomaly flags. No audit trails. Just blind trust.

The staff who earned those tips are the real victims here.

If you haven't looked closely at your tip system lately, now's a good time. Not out of paranoia. Because your people deserve to know the system protecting their money actually works.

Quebec spent C$1B+ on an ERP estimated under C$163M. Launched before it was ready. Public services collapsed.
They weren't even sure ERP was the right fit.
Could you explain the problem your ERP is solving?
