Some things just stick with you 🩷

On May 30th, I was invited to spend the day in beautiful Squamish, BC with a room full of women who I’ve had the privilege of working with, and a few I was meeting for the very first time.

I’ve been welcomed into the bookkeeping community in a way I genuinely didn’t expect when I started leaning into this niche. These women are sharp, driven, generous with each other, and so deeply committed to their businesses.

Getting to stand in front of them and talk about something I care about, and then get to sit alongside them for the rest of the day, was one of those experiences that reminds you why you do what you do.

The hardest clients to show up for are usually ourselves 👇🏻

I went pretty quiet on here this month. Not because nothing was happening...

➡️ Client work was full
➡️ Projects were moving
➡️ On paper, things were good

But every time I thought about showing up for my own business, something else took priority.

➡️ My own Instagram? Later.
➡️ Updating my own stuff? Later.
➡️ Literally anything that was for me and not a client? Later.

And I know I’m not the only one who does it. The women I work with are incredible at what they do, but their own brands, websites, and the way their business actually shows up online? That’s almost always the last thing on the list. So it stays stuck, and meanwhile your business is out there making a first impression whether you’re ready for it or not. The thing about “I’ll deal with it later” is that later has a cost, you just don’t always notice it right away.

🫶🏻 You feel it when a warm lead checks your website and goes quiet.

🫶🏻 When you’re second-guessing your rates because your brand doesn’t back them up.

🫶🏻 When you’re doing genuinely great work and nothing about your online presence reflects it.

Coming back this week and sitting with my own business reminded me, the outside needs to match the inside!

So excited to officially introduce new brand 💜🌿🧡
