Be careful out there. My dad got a call this morning from Amazon about a purchase. They sent him a confirmation email from an amazon.ca email address with a pin code to read them over the phone to confirm his identity.

They told him they had removed all his credit cards from his Amazon account to be safe and had started the fraudulent reporting with the credit card and had RBC call him. When "RBC" started asking him to confirm information, I told them we could call back and ask for the fraud department. She said ok.

We called and RBC had no record of it and there was actually no purchase on his Amazon account.

They almost had me fooled. The email looked very legit.

I always say, if somebody phones you and it's legit, they will all to happy if you tell them you will call back so you know you're talking to the right company.
