A few quick (and unfinished) mermaids from last month. 😅 Tried skipping drawing and just doodle painting with some copic markers. And some other unfinished pencil sketches. Mermaids are fun. :)
Lots of what I drew in May are for David’s next book, so sorry I don’t have as much to show you. But I’ve been doing some pretty nice drawings for it. 😎

Oh my goodness - sorry everyone! I DID have several prompts in the hat, but they were given by text messages instead of comments on these posts, so I temporarily lost them. >.< But now I’ve found them! So let’s get to drawing your suggestions! :D
For May, I was working on Wallace’s suggestion of “Jellyfish, squids, octopus, or other sea creatures, especially if they’re space/galaxy themes.” I already have some jellyfish and fish in space, so I decided to try colouring the sea creatures in galaxy style; and then I decided to try pastel galaxy palette. And I was only going to do three, but I love sea creatures too, and there are so many wonderful ones, I ended up drawing like seven. Not all coloured yet, but drawn and inked. :)

Yesterday we toured local art galleries for Sask Art Gallery Day. We went to dervilia_art_design, , and and saw so much amazing local art. 🤩 Looking at the artwork inspired me to do some study and experimentation today. I tried playing with more bold colours and looser rendering. I’m quite happy with this.
Go see local art, and get inspired to make more art of your own! 🥰 Thanks for putting a spotlight on the amazing talent we have right here in Sask!
