🚨 STATES OF EMERGENCY DECLARED IN NIAGARA
The Town of Lincoln and City of St. Catharines have both declared states of emergency following historic flooding across parts of the Niagara Region.
In St. Catharines, two intense storms brought more than 140 mm of rain to some areas on July 27-28 and again on August 2nd. This overwhelmed roads and sewer systems while flooding homes, businesses and city facilities.
Lincoln has also experienced widespread flooding of homes, businesses and farms, along with power outages. The town received nearly 300 flooding calls within 24 hours.
The declarations will help both municipalities coordinate their response and request additional support as the region begins what could be a lengthy recovery.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected. Please avoid flooded roads and remember, turn around, don’t drown!
