Workaround for "Faulty Channel File" in CrowdStrike

CrowdStrike's Director of Overwatch has shared a workaround for the "faulty channel file" issue. Please note that this may not work for everyone, but it can be a helpful solution for some. Follow the steps below to attempt this workaround:

# # Step 1: Boot to Safe Mode or Command Prompt from the WinRE Blue Screen

# # # Safe Mode:
1. Navigate to **Advanced Repair Options**:
- See advanced repair options
- Troubleshoot
- Advanced options
- Startup Settings
2. Click **Restart**.
3. At the options screen, press **F4** or **4** to boot into Safe Mode.

# # # WinRE: Command Prompt
1. Navigate to **Advanced Repair Options**:
- See advanced repair options
- Troubleshoot
- Advanced options
- Command Prompt

# # # # If the Machine is Stuck on a BSOD and Not Auto-Booted to WinRE:
1. Reboot the machine by holding down the power button for approximately 10 seconds.
2. Once the Windows bootloader begins loading Windows, repeat the reboot process twice in a row.
- Windows will auto-boot to WinRE upon two failed attempts by the Windows bootloader to load Windows.

# # Step 2: Delete the Faulty File

# # # Safe Mode:
1. Open an Admin terminal:
- Press **WinKey + R**.
- Type `powershell`.
- Press **Ctrl + Shift + OK** to open PowerShell with administrative privileges.
2. Delete the file:
- In the PowerShell window, type the following command and press **Enter**:
```powershell
Remove-Item -Path "$env:WinDir\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike\C-00000291*.sys" -Force
```
3. Reboot the system:
- Type `Shutdown /f /r /t 0` and press **Enter**.

Computer Running Slow 🐢

-Close Unnecessary Programs: Too many open programs can slow
down your computer.
-Close any applications you're not using.
-Clear Cache: Regularly clear your browser cache to improve speed.
-Disk Cleanup: Use the built-in disk cleanup tool to remove
temporary files and free up space.

Internet Connectivity Issues 🌐

-Restart Router/Modem: Unplug your router or modem, wait 30
seconds, then plug it back in.
-Check Network Settings: Ensure your Wi-Fi is turned on and you’re
connected to the correct network.
-Update Drivers: Make sure your network adapter drivers are up to
date.

Frozen Screen ❄️

-Force Restart: Hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds
until the computer shuts down. Wait a moment, then restart.
