CHANGE TO PRODUCT BULLETIN
P/N 560-111 Locking Collar is Now Made of Stainless Steel with a New Feature

Products Affected: All fiberglass helmet models EXCEPT the SL 17B.

The chrome-plated brass P/N 560-111 Locking Collar will now be made from 316L stainless steel. As stock of chromeplated brass runs low, we will begin switching to stainless steel. Kirby Morgan will install the updated Locking Collars on all future fiberglass helmet production, EXCEPT for the SL 17B.

The new stainless steel Locking Collar for fiberglass helmets features an updated design. A new two-bolt hinge mechanism allows the Locking Collar to stay in place instead of swinging freely like the previous single-bolt design. This enables the Locking Collar to move throughout its range but remain positioned once force is no longer applied.

Service and maintenance for the new two-bolt design are similar to those of the previous single-bolt in both components and servicing procedures.

P/N 815-039 Surface Supplied Microphone Assembly

Products Affected: P/N 500-800 Surface Supplied MOD-1 & P/N 805-225 Surface Supplied Pod

A new microphone is now available and is standard for all Surface Supplied MOD-1s and Surface Supplied Pods. The microphone is housed in a non-removable yellow casing and features very durable fixed jumper wires. The P/N 815-039 Surface Supplied Microphone Assembly is a single complete unit compared to the four individual components needed for the previous microphone. There are no changes to the installation of the microphone into the Oral Cup and no modifications related to maintenance procedures.
