The Salvation Army Western Territory, a large nonprofit serving communities across 13 U.S. states and beyond, needed to modernize and streamline security operations across hundreds of distributed locations.
They faced challenges with outdated, fragmented systems that limited visibility, required heavy maintenance, and made security operations difficult to scale.
To address these challenges, they partnered with Verkada and implemented its cloud-based security platform, including security cameras, access control, and alarm systems. Through this deployment, they centralized management, eliminated complex infrastructure like NVRs, and enabled remote monitoring across locations.
This approach reduced IT support needs by 50–70%, allowing just two people to manage 3,000 cameras across 240 sites, while helping the organization save more than $1.5 million.
