An application inventory tells you what you have. It does not tell you what you intend to do about it.

And every application is costing you something, whether you have a plan for it or not. Licensing, security attention, support, leadership focus. Let one sit in the portfolio with no direction long enough, and "do nothing" quietly becomes the plan by default.

Every application does not need immediate action. But every application should have a plan.
