Okay… but why are car dealerships wearing Walmart shoes?
I should be able to see an ad and immediately know what company it’s for without having to seethe logo.
That’s what a strong brand does.
Customers don’t just buy the product. They buy the feeling, perception, and identity they associate with it. And when your marketing looks like 20 other businesses in your industry, you’re making it a hell of a lot harder for someone to remember you.
AI and Canva can make an ad but neither one makes you different. If your marketing looks interchangeable, your business becomes interchangeable too. And that’s not going to be good for longevity.
The goal isn’t to make something that looks good. It’s to make something that looks like you.
Making fun of AI flyers is like laughing at someone's Walmart shoes. Folks acting like Canva and AI are a crime need to touch some grass. Most small businesses are not cutting corners; they're cutting coupons. They're doing late nights, early mornings, and trying to make it all pencil out. If you have the budget for a designer, awesome. If not, using AI isn't cheating, it's surviving. So before you roast someone's promo, ask yourself, "Am I helping or just heckling?" If it's the latter, congrats, you just volunteered for free design services.
