Great design. Nice to see the parameters of this media push to its limits.
In honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, this year’s Truth and Reconciliation stamps mark an important milestone for Orange Shirt Day.
Guided by Canada Post’s partnership with the Survivors Circle of the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, this annual stamp series seeks to raise awareness about residential schools and their legacy of trauma and abuse that continues to have an impact on Indigenous Peoples today.
This year marks a milestone in Canada’s journey toward truth and reconciliation. For the first time, a cohort of students have graduated high school with an understanding of the legacy of residential schools – having participating in Orange Shirt Day every year since kindergarten.
The three stamps reflect the distinct experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities. A fourth honours Mother Earth, symbolizing the connection between past, present and future generations. Together, they affirm that EVERY CHILD MATTERS.
