We’re thrilled to share that six of our logo designs were selected for LogoLounge Book 15 — the world’s leading showcase for identity design.

It’s especially meaningful because the collection includes both new work and designs from earlier projects — a reminder that thoughtful design can last.

You can see all six (and past winners too) at sumackloft.com.

I'm excited to kick off a new series called Love Local, where I share stories of design work I've done with some of the amazing businesses and organizations here in the Ottawa Valley and Lanark County.

First up: Petawawa Public Library.

I helped refresh their visual identity—from a new logo and website to letterhead, business cards, and email signatures. The goal was to create something welcoming, accessible, and easy to use for both staff and visitors.

I loved working on this project, and I’m proud to support the institutions that help our communities thrive.

Love Local Spotlight: Petawawa Public Library

Libraries are one of my favourite kinds of clients—especially when they’re deeply rooted in their communities like Petawawa’s.

I was delighted to help refresh their logo, website, and stationery—everything from business cards to email signatures. The result? A welcoming, accessible brand identity that reflects who they are and what they offer.

This was a thoughtful, collaborative project—and a great example of how design can support the everyday work of rural institutions.

🚀 Thinking about hiring a designer? Read this first! 🥳

A great brand isn’t just about looking good—it’s about making an impact. But how do you find a designer who really gets your business? One who sees the big picture, asks the right questions, and makes sure your branding works everywhere—from your website to your social media to your print materials?

I just wrote a post that breaks it all down:
✔️ What to look for in a designer
✔️ How to evaluate portfolios (beyond just the visuals)
✔️ Why collaboration is key to a successful design project

If you’re thinking about refreshing your brand or getting a new logo or website, this might help.

We’re excited to share one of our recent projects: an illustrated map for Gemmill Park in Almonte! 🗺️ This piece was designed to guide visitors through the park’s many features, blending clarity and playfulness into one welcoming design.

Creating this was such a rewarding process, and we can’t wait to see how it helps visitors explore and enjoy the space. While the sign won’t be installed until spring, we’ve included a mockup to show how it will look in the park setting.

A big thank you to the Town of Mississippi Mills for the opportunity to collaborate on this project! 💚

We’d love to hear what you think—or help bring your own ideas to life!

We just finished a banner design for an author client attending a trade show, and she is super happy 😎. The banner showcases her fun branding (also designed by us), along with covers of three of her novels, which reflect her stories of sci-fi and supernatural adventure/romance written for the LGBTQ+ community. Can't wait for everyone to see it at the trade show! .
