The 10 AM Crisis Call
Mike's phone buzzed. 10:17 AM. His biggest client.
"Our employees can't clock in. Everyone's standing around. Payroll closes at 2 PM - if we can't process timesheets, 400 people won't get paid."
Heart racing, Mike opened his laptop. His small SaaS had three servers. But which log file? Which service? He was the entire dev team.
Coffee #1: Searching the main app logs. Nothing.
Coffee #2: Digging through the API logs. Still nothing.
Coffee #3: Found it. A certificate expiration in the authentication service, blocking all logins.
The timestamp? 7:30 AM. When the early shift tried to clock in. Almost 3 hours of chaos.
They barely made payroll. Hundreds of timesheets entered manually. But the damage was done - "unacceptable for an HR system" they said.
While Mike works hard and provides great support, this issue could shut him down. He couldn't lose this one.
That afternoon, he installed Llama Logger. Every error, one dashboard. Instant alerts on his phone.
Next month, Llama Logger caught an API rate limit at 6:45 AM. Fixed before the first employee arrived at 7.
His client never knew. Their employees clocked in smoothly. Mike kept his business.
Sometimes survival comes down to knowing about problems before your clients do.
🦙 Stop hunting logs. Start keeping clients.
