While we all navigate our way through this unusual and challenging time, we wanted to let you know that as an essential service, the team here at BC Communications remains ready to serve and support you during the Covid-19 crisis. B.C. Communications is open for service, sales and rentals of radios, accessories and systems.

Here are some tips to help keep you and your employees safe:

1. Where possible assign and label radios for specific employees to reduce radio sharing.

2. If earpieces/headsets are being used, we recommend each employee be provided their own personal earpiece for sanitary purposes.

3. Check the health/age of your batteries to ensure you have reliable communications when you most need it most. Typically, batteries older than 3 years should be replaced.

4. If your radios need to be serviced and cleaned, now would be a good time to do so.

Radio use can help with social distancing while ensuring reliable communications for critical operations. If you don’t have enough radios, we can rent you additional radios. We also rent and sell satellite phones if you need a back-up plan in case your cell provider goes down at an inopportune moment.

BC Communications specializes in the sales, service and rentals of Motorola radio equipment. Founded in 1981, BC Communications has become Western Canada’s premier Motorola Solutions radio dealership. Our rental division - Canada Wide Communications – is the largest provider of radios to the film industry in BC. We are currently looking for a Sales Assistant to provide support to our sales team by answering the phones, directing inquiries, answering questions, providing administrative assistance, and acting as a customer advocate.

Position Summary:

To support the Senior Account Management Team with a broad range of administrative tasks related to sales, order fulfillment and data management. The ideal candidate must be able to work under pressure and have an eye for detail.

Working Hours & Conditions:

Scheduled 8 hours between 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (5 days between Monday to Friday)
Computer work, follow-ups, out-of-office duties including some deliveries
Order entry / admin within a fast-paced environment

Job Responsibilities:

Quote creation, order entry and processing
Liaise with sales team, project management
Co-ordinate shipments with the warehouse
Assist the accounting department with billing issues
Assist in the maintenance of inventory records and the updating of inventory data
Duties to be assigned from time to time to support performance of functions of the department
Systems used in day to day work: Mainly in-house Customer Management System, Outlook, Web
Inside sales of communication equipment, services and accessories

Requirements / Must-Haves:

Proficiency with PC (working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
Attention to detail with accurate data entry
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator
Proficiency in verbal and written English (fluent).
Technically minded
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Secondary School (grade 12) Diploma and relevant work experience

• We understand few candidates will have all this, so being a quick study is important in the absence of this experience.
• You will need to obtain security clearance, which will include extensive background checks and biometrics.
• Being a communications company, we require employees who communicate well both orally and electronically.
• Your best days may include a helicopter ride to the top of a mountain on a warm clear day or a ride on the peak to peak at Whistler.
• More challenging days will include early mornings trudging through snow in the cold.
It is important to understand both good days and tough days are all part of being an outside tech.
