We’re heading to Smart Manufacturing Week 2026 in Birmingham, UK on June 3–4. You can find us at Booth K #36 connecting with manufacturing, maintenance, and reliability professionals from across the industry.

If reliability, maintenance planning, or asset visibility have been ongoing challenges at your facility, stop by our booth and talk with us. We’ll be sharing how teams are using MAINTelligence™, WorkMT™, and InspectMT™ to keep inspections organized, manage maintenance activity more efficiently, and make faster decisions with better asset data.

You still have time to book a demo with us in advance if you’d like dedicated time with our team during the event. Link in bio or in the comments.

We recently talked about the problem with changing oil too soon and how it can increase lubricant, labour, disposal, and maintenance costs across a facility.

So now we’re curious:
How does your team decide when it’s time for an oil change?
⬜ Fixed calendar schedule
⬜ Runtime / operating hours
⬜ Oil analysis results
⬜ Depends on the asset

Interested to see how different plants and reliability teams approach oil-drain intervals. Tell us your answer in the comments.

Replacing oil too soon can increase lubricant, labour, disposal, and recycling costs across your facility while usable oil life is still left in the system.

Many plants still rely on fixed oil-drain schedules without fully understanding the condition of the oil between changes. Extending oil-drain intervals safely can help reduce unnecessary maintenance work, lower operating costs, and reduce waste at the same time.

What are maintenance and reliability teams struggling with right now?

That question came up repeatedly during our time at The Reliability Conference 2026 in San Francisco this month.

From maintenance visibility and inspections to organizing reliability data without overwhelming teams, conversations across the event floor showed that many organizations are facing the same operational challenges, regardless of industry.

We also had the opportunity to hear Dave Lockhart, CHFM, CEM, CRL, FASHE, Executive Director for Facilities Operations and Maintenance at Kaiser Permanente, speak about the role reliability practices play in supporting safety and protecting critical infrastructure.

Here’s our question for planners and reliability teams:
How many temporary repairs in your facility are sitting outside the CMMS backlog right now?

Over the past two weeks, we’ve talked about flagging temporary fixes with a deadline and converting them into planned work orders, rather than leaving them buried in notes.

If your answer here is “too many to count,” it’s probably time to review every temporary repair currently running in the plant and prioritize them based on operational risk, safety, production impact, and asset condition.

The longer temporary work sits outside the planning process, the harder it becomes to track what’s changed around the asset over time.

That’s where an all-in-one asset management system like MAINTelligence™ helps keep corrective work, asset condition, and maintenance planning connected in one place.

We had a great time at CIM CONNECT Vancouver 2026. Between the conversations at our booth, the technical sessions, and reconnecting with people across the mining industry, a few themes kept coming up throughout the week.

If you've missed the event, we have put together a recap covering the biggest conversations and reliability trends that stood out to our team.

Last week, we talked about flagging temporary fixes with a deadline.
The next step is to convert them into planned work in your CMMS.

Don’t leave it buried in the work order notes. Raise a follow-up work order, link it to the asset, and push it into the maintenance backlog.

If it’s not in your weekly planning cycle, it won’t get scheduled.

Follow for more reliability insights.
