It's with great sadness that I have to announce the closing of Phoenix Computers + Technology, at the end of September. It was a family endeavor, buying the business. I did it for my son Deus, hoping for a family business to call our own. Give my son, and myself something to believe in together. A family store. My son has learned so much, I have too, and I am so proud of my son. He is a top notch, up and coming computer tech now. In that sense it's been worth it. Brooklynn as well, who has been my main customer service rep, my right hand person on customer service. She is amazing! And like family to me. I am so proud of her too.
September will be the last month we are open. It started with tariffs, and then the massive increasing technology costs that has affected everything from hardware to laptops, from AI and big tech. Increasing labour costs. Coupled with the costs of everything else, gas prices, food prices, etc. We can't compete with Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, staples, or any of the huge corporations that can sell for less than our wholesale costs. As much as people want to support local, when push comes to shove they now order online. It's understandable, and I wish we could have continued to provide our community the same services that we have for the last 20+ years. It's no longer feasible. Or sustainable.
We are having a 30% off sale right now, to generate some sales. Throughout the month that sale might go up.
We are not taking on anymore repair work, other than data transfers, and basic clean and tunes.
Thank you Nelson, for almost 40 years of business. Between Ramsbottoms and The Phoenix era.
Sept 30th is most likely our last day open.
