There's never a dull moment maintaining network infrastructure in the Kootenays! We were called by an internet provider experiencing connectivity problems with their network infrastructure, which another contractor had installed. We soon discovered water had seeped inside their FOSC (Fibre Optic Splice Case), which ultimately froze during a cold snap. After some repairs and a thorough warm-up, their service was restored. We're here to ensure our community stays connected, no matter the weather!

We utilize a number of specialized tools to build technology infrastructure and support our region! A cable lasher is a cleverly designed tool used to secure cables to a support strand by wrapping them with lashing wire. It is operated by pulling the lasher along the line, making sure everything stays in place. Swipe to see it in action during one of our Fibre infrastructure projects.

DHC is proud to be the prime contractor constructing a new fibre optic backbone from Fruitvale to Nelson for Columbia Basin Trust. We’re thrilled to be working locally applying our diverse skillset to directly improve broadband connectivity for residents of the Kootenays.
