Now that The Mummy VR Experience starring Tom Cruise is being distributed publicly, it’s an appropriate time to pause for a second and thank all the people who worked tirelessly on getting this from idea to reality. And it is the definition of team effort. In our short history we’ve had the privilege of working on some innovative projects, across a variety of industries, but none could compare to the complexity, intensity and creativity involved in making the wonderful adventure of the first ever zero-gravity experience come to life. A first thank you to Universal Pictures, who commissioned this project and trusted us to help see it through from pre-production to post-production. Without a great partner, this would have not worked. It simply wouldn’t and we had a great partner in Universal. A second thank you comes to the support staff at 5th Wall who were always willing and ready to support their colleagues in whatever needs they needed to make their lives easier, without that glue, it also would not have worked. And finally, to the core Mummy VR team who suffered through endless nights, some sleepless nights, numerous cuts, even more numerous renders, and a front-row seat to witness why ‘Murphy’s Law’ was coined when it comes to computers crashing at the oh-so-right time. Without all the effort, dedication, love, blood, sweat and tears of all of these people, projects like these, special ones, that help rewrite the rules of VR, cinematic experiences, and how storytelling should really be used, none of this magic comes to life. A deep and sincere thank you - I’m very proud of everyone. Let’s celebrate for that second, a little history was made. Sincerely, Ricardo Poupada - CEO 5th Wall
