We’re excited to see our work with Myra’s Kids’s 2026 Ignite Gala included in RGD’s latest article, highlighting thoughtful design projects created with children and youth at the centre of the brief.
Our work for the Ignite Gala is especially meaningful to us. Ignite is Myra’s Kids Foundation’s annual fundraising gala, created to support the organization’s free year-round programming, including grief camps and peer support groups for bereaved children and their families.
For the gala, we wanted to bring the feeling of the foundation’s summer grief camp into the event experience. We transformed an industrial venue into an immersive environment, with the illusion of a floating dock, illuminated lanterns, an indoor shoreline and layered lighting. Large-scale banners featuring camper photography and quotes lined the entrance, bringing young voices into the experience.
We’re grateful to RGD | Design Community, Inspiration & Advocacy for including this project alongside so many inspiring examples of design helping young people learn, play, heal and belong.
