Check out my most recent logo design—for a family! 🤗

When Jeremy Hyatt reached out to me to design a custom logo for his family, I was flattered! I’d worked for 9 years with his wife Lee Carson on design projects for Hyatt Training Gym in Portland, but I’d never worked with Jeremy. And to make the project even more fun, it was going to be a surprise for Lee and their two kids! 🤫

Jeremy approached me wanting a family brand, “like the kind a cowboy would stamp on the flank of their cow.” 😆 He wanted something simple and meaningful that could be used on hats, t-shirts and bumper stickers. Ideas he wanted represented in the logo: mountains (their happy place) and 4 (each member of the family).

I made a logo that features the first initial of each family member’s name (L, J, M and G), which together create the shape of mountains ⛰ I created the mountains using equilateral triangles, a shape that connotes strength, unity and equality. The resulting logo feels perfect for this close-knit, outdoorsy and adventurous family 😊

Jeremy loved the resulting logo so much that he had it tattooed on his forearm! 😲

To show my appreciation for all your support, I’m launching my very own refer-a-friend program! 😃

I’ve had the pleasure of working with some awesome people over the past 10 years. In recognition of Women’s History Month, I’m featuring just a few of my amazing female clients. These women are doing what they love while juggling parenting and a pandemic (because, you know, running your own business isn’t hard enough 😜)!

Read their stories here: https://brightspotstudio.com/wonderwomen/

And if you’re thinking about starting a new venture, you’ll appreciate their sage advice 😊

What do you get when a zero waste designer and a compost-crazy gardener get together? A whole lot of awesome! 💚

Check out my latest web design project: The Garden Vo**ur

I got to pair up with Brian Sirimaturos (a.k.a. The Garden Vo**ur) to create a landing page for his growing fan base. He's a backyard gardener in St. Louis, Mo., who's attracted followers from around the world. If you're interested in gardening, you have to check him out. You'll learn a ton, and his passion for compost is contagious! 😜

More to come from both of us! In the meantime, eat your (homegrown, plastic-free) veggies 😉🌱🌎

I am so excited to officially announce that Sweet Somethings is now Sweetly in St. Louis! I had the pleasure of working with amazing cookie artist Rachel Katzman to change her business name, then develop a brand identity and website that showcases her creativity and talent 😁

We changed her business name to distinguish her from the myriad of other dessert businesses named "Sweet Somethings." We incorporated "St. Louis" in her name because her baking business is—and always will be—connected to St. Louis. And I love how Sweetly in St. Louis is a play off of the song “Meet me in St. Louis” 🧡

For her logo, I chose a typeface that was reminiscent of the icing detail in her cookies. For the color palette, I chose a teal blue that perfectly complements her delicious shortbread and other baked goods. And I mean, who doesn’t love an edible logo?! 😂

I created a new, easy-to-use website that showcases all her homemade treats in a bigger and brighter way. The website features better photography so her personalized treats look as good as they taste! 😋

If you live in St. Louis, order Rachel's custom treats at https://sweetlyinstlouis.com. I promise, you won't be disappointed! 😊
