Stay Safe While Online Shopping

Black Friday is just around the corner and with that comes hot deals but also malware trying to capitalize on this busy time of the year! Check out these tips for how to stay safe while online shopping this holiday season!
1. Use Familiar Websites – you’re sure to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list at site you are familiar with
2.Be careful what you share – online retailers do not need your social insurance number – don’t share it!
3.Protect your computer from malware – have an updated internet security package with updated signatures
4. Avoid public computers – when shopping online always try to use your own computer and a private Wi-Fi network.
5.If the offer is too good to be true it probably is – these offers can be a scam so be skeptical.

There is a scam campaign going on, this time a very well executed Netflix phishing attack.
The scam targets subscribers telling them that their account is about to be canceled. The well-designed, personalized fake email convinces customers to update their account information to avoid suspension. This results in stolen personal and credit card information.
Don't fall for this type of scam. If you want to change the setting of your subscription services like this, never click on links in any email and just type the name of the site in your browser or use a bookmark that you set.
Whatever email about Netflix you see in the coming weeks... THINK BEFORE YOU CLICK.
