Why can one amplifier power multiple speakers?

In schools, factories, and commercial facilities, it is common to see multiple speakers connected to a single amplifier.

High-impedance (Hi-Z) systems make it possible to distribute audio efficiently to many speakers from a single amplifier, even across long cable runs. This is one reason they are commonly used in large-scale facilities.

On the other hand, Low-impedance (Lo-Z) systems are often used in smaller audio systems where higher sound quality is a priority.

Neither approach is inherently better than the other. The right choice depends on the size of the facility and the intended application.
