Dear BrokerPocket Community,
My name is Eric Skicki, CEO of BrokerPocket and I want to personally thank you for being part of our journey.
When we launched BrokerPocket in September 2021, our mission was clear: to build Canada’s largest off-market real estate platform. With your trust and support, we quickly grew to over 12,000 registered agents and featured more than 1,200 unique off-market listings, primarily in the Greater Toronto Area.
We are especially grateful to the early adopters who believed in us, the brokerages who partnered with us, and the venues and associations who welcomed our presence. Your support laid the foundation for everything we accomplished.
I also want to take a moment to sincerely thank our dedicated team, which at one point included 14 full-time staff members, as well as the accountants and legal professionals who stood by us throughout the process. Your hard work, loyalty, and belief in the mission of BrokerPocket did not go unnoticed. You played a critical role in helping us build something impactful.
Since October 2024, BrokerPocket has been operating on autopilot with no employees, as we observed the market and reflected on next steps. Despite the demand for off-market tools, we faced significant barriers in integrating with key industry systems and navigating the complex landscape of organized real estate in Canada.
Early on, we spent considerable resources defending our right to exist, which naturally slowed our momentum. Still, this is not a bitter farewell. We believe in the Canadian real estate market, in the value of organized real estate, and in the essential role agents play in our communities. We should be proud of the strong, transparent system we have—many countries don’t have anything close.
With all that in mind, we’ve made the difficult decision to officially shut down BrokerPocket.com, effective Monday, June 30th at 5:00 p.m. EST.
However, the vision remains alive. Off-market platforms are thriving in places like the U.S., and our own agent review system showed strong potential to grow into a trusted national referral network.
As for me, I’m currently exploring real estate and AI-based ventures, and have recently been invited to provide paid consulting for brokerages and real estate teams. I’ve also had encouraging conversations with industry players in the U.S., and may pursue opportunities in that direction.
To any developers or pre-construction condo marketers: BrokerPocket presents a rare opportunity to acquire a ready-made platform with massive exposure to a highly engaged agent network. If you see the strategic potential, I encourage you to reach out directly.
