The strongest endorsement in this business is not a case study.

It is a dealer who tells you to come see it for yourself.

Bill Denton, 29 years in fixed ops and now President and COO at Allen Samuels Auto Group, means that literally.

“If I had another store call me on the phone and want to talk about my experience with Dealer-FX, the first thing I would do is tell them: get in the car or get on a plane and come hang out with us.”

He is not vouching for a feature list.

Kelly Eighmey, who leads Dealer-FX, names what he is really pointing at.

“Technology will always evolve, but trust, partnership, and a deep understanding of dealership operations, that is what we hope dealers associate with Dealer-FX and Snap-On.”

For Bill, it comes down to one line.

“Dealer-FX is our process.”

You have felt the bottleneck. You have seen the fix. You have heard the proof.

So here is the ask, and it is not a demo. It is a conversation about your operation, your drive, your numbers.

Get in the car. Get on a plane. Or just start with a conversation.

As Kelly Eighmey, President of Dealer-FX, puts it, technology evolves, but trust and partnership do not. That is what Dealer-FX and Snap-On offer.

Ask Bill Denton, President and COO at Allen Samuels Auto Group, about his experience with Dealer-FX, and the advice is simple. Come see it in person.

For Bill, it comes down to one line.

“Dealer-FX is our process.”

Ask Bill Denton, President and COO at Allen Samuels Auto Group, about Dealer-FX and he does not pitch you. He invites you.

Get in the car. Get on a plane. Come hang out with us.

Kelly Eighmey, President of Dealer-FX, on why: technology evolves, but trust, partnership, and a real understanding of the service drive do not. That is what Dealer-FX and Snap-On are built on.

Do not take our word for it. Take a dealer’s.

Fifteen minutes.

That is what a brand new customer used to cost, before anyone looked at the car.

Jonathan Boden, Service Manager, Golling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Grosse Pointe - President, Detroit Service Managers Guild, remembers the math.

“If we took in a brand-new customer, it would easily be a good 10 to 15 minutes. By the time you got all the information, got the customer back to your desk, typed in their name and number, then typed up the repair order itself.”

Then the information stopped living on a keyboard.

“Now all that information is right there. Now I can take the customer with me on the journey of the walk-around. I can start to earn their trust, have good conversations, look at the tires together, look at all the lights that are on.”

The 15 minutes did not disappear into efficiency. It moved to the customer.

Bill Denton, 29 years in fixed ops and now President and COO at Allen Samuels Auto Group, names what that buys.

“It has created a level of transparency that the past can never compete with.”

Same team. Same day. The time just went somewhere better.

Jonathan Boden, Service Manager, Golling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Grosse Pointe - President, Detroit Service Managers Guild, used to spend 15 minutes typing up every new customer.

Now that time goes into the walk-around, not the keyboard. Swipe through the trade.

As Bill Denton, President and COO at Allen Samuels Auto Group, puts it, a level of transparency the past could never compete with.

Jonathan Boden, Service Manager, Golling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Grosse Pointe - President, Detroit Service Managers Guild, used to lose 15 minutes typing up every new customer before the real work began.

Now the information is already there. Those minutes go to the walk-around instead, looking at the tires and the lights together, earning trust in person.

Bill Denton, President and COO at Allen Samuels Auto Group, calls it a level of transparency the old way could never compete with.

Same team. The time just moved to the customer.

Ask a service department where it is losing time, and most fingers point at the tool.

The tool is rarely the problem.

Jill Carter, Director of Program Management at Dealer-FX, starts somewhere else.

“We always start with the process. Technology is a powerful tool, but it should support a great workflow, not replace one. We work with dealerships to understand where the real bottlenecks are, and then determine how people, process, and technology can work together.”

Bill Denton, 29 years in fixed ops and now President and COO at Allen Samuels Auto Group, has seen where that starts on the drive.

“The ability to get the service advisor off of the stool, onto the service drive, and write the car up at the car, because that is where the greatest success stories are made. Not in selling additional services, but in the relationship with the customer.”

That is the process leading. The tool follows.

“I can better dispatch a vehicle, which means I can turn the vehicle faster and get it into technicians’ hands faster.”

A busy shop and an efficient shop are not the same thing.

The difference is almost always in the process, not the tool.

Start with the process. The tool comes second.

Buying software will not fix a bottleneck. It only runs your current process faster.

Start with the process instead. Find where the day actually breaks, then decide how people, process, and technology work together.

Swipe through where the real bottlenecks hide, then go look at your own drive.

Your best advisor is stuck behind a counter. That is the bottleneck, not the tool and not the team.

A better tool will not fix a broken process. It just runs the one you already have, faster.

So start at the car. Get the advisor onto the drive, dispatch cleaner, and the whole lane moves.

Fewer bottlenecks. More cars through the lane.

Ask anyone who has worked a service drive long enough what the job used to be.

Jonathan Boden, Service Manager, Golling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Grosse Pointe - President, Detroit Service Managers Guild, would know.

“So, we were pretty much just handwriting things down and then if you screwed up one digit of the VIN, you had to go back to the car and figure out what you did wrong.”

Bill Denton, 29 years in fixed ops and now President and COO at Allen Samuels Auto Group, remembers the rest of it.

“You had no idea why the check engine light was on. You had no direction. Everything was by hand and manual and you had a stack of paper that was this big, and now you don’t have that.”

Most of that is gone. Very few shops still run on paper.

But the pattern paper created did not leave with it.

Kelly Eighmey, Dealer-FX President, names what replaced it.

“Teams are working incredibly hard, but they’re often spending too much time chasing information, waiting on the next step, or communicating across disconnected processes.”

That is the part worth sitting with. Nobody is standing still. Nobody is working less hard than they were.

The time goes somewhere else. Into the gap between one step and the next.

A busy shop and an efficient shop are not the same thing, and the difference rarely shows up on a schedule.

So ask the honest version of the question. When your drive gets busy, where does the day actually go?

Your team is not the bottleneck. Your process is.
