In this hands-on lab, participants will discover why lie detectors were created, how they work, and how they are used. Using this new knowledge, participants will create their own lie detector with an Arduino, a breadboard, and other materials. Participants will each have the opportunity to use their lie detector on their friends/spouse to quiz them on various topics. At the end of the lab, participants will take home their lie detector. This lab is recommended for ages 16 and above but everyone is encouraged to join (including adults). Participants should bring their own laptop to learn how to use their lie detector at home.
Tickets available at eurekatec.ca /stem-labs
Note: Lie detectors are not always accurate. This lab is primarily for educational and entertainment purposes.
How to prepare for the lab: We will be using the software from arduino.cc. You will need to install the software on your laptop in order to participate, the web version is not enough for what we will be doing. If you are having trouble downloading let us know and we can help. Please note, not all devices are compatible.
