We’re hiring an Account Manager, Websites & Brand to join our team at 1dea.

We’re a small, highly experienced and collaborative team working remotely across Ontario. This role is a pretty important one for us! You’ll own a portfolio of client accounts and stay closely involved in both the relationship side and the planning and delivery of the work. That includes leading client conversations, building project plans, writing briefs and recaps, tracking scope and timelines, and helping clients make good decisions about what should happen next. You will help guide and shape the strategic direction with clients.

Website work is a significant part of the role, so we’re looking for someone with experience leading complex website projects and a solid understanding of WordPress, UX, content, design and development workflows.

It’s a permanent, full-time, fully remote position, with an anticipated start date in October.

Meet Archie, Kelsy's four-legged sidekick! 🐾

Around Kelsy's house, Archie is better known as Boi or Little Prince, and he takes his role as the self-appointed Fun Police very seriously. If she's been working a little too long, he'll quietly place a paw on her leg to remind her it's time for a break.

When he's not supervising the workday, Archie can usually be found watching the world go by from his favourite window or making his presence known during Kelsy's calls. He's never shy about joining the conversation, whether he's been invited or not.

Before every nap comes one long, dramatic sigh, as though he's had the busiest day of anyone in the house. And despite being famously picky, he'll never pass up the chance to roll in garbage juice on garbage day.

Spoiled, sweet, and full of personality, Archie certainly keeps life entertaining for Kelsy every single day 💙🐶

Many organizations need to communicate with multiple audiences, each with different responsibilities, priorities, and information needs. Healthcare providers, community organizations, educators, administrators, and program partners all rely on the same resources, but they use them in different ways.

Supporting that level of complexity requires more than good design. It begins with understanding how the organization works, how information moves between different groups, and what each audience needs to accomplish.

That approach guided our work with the Ontario Harm Reduction Distribution Program. Rather than creating a single deliverable, we developed a collection of educational and communication resources that helped make important information more accessible, practical, and easier to use for healthcare providers and community organizations across Ontario.

Not every website problem starts with traffic. In many cases, the bigger challenge is what happens after people arrive.

If users can’t quickly find what they need, they leave. Navigation slows movement through the site, and too many steps create friction that interrupts action.

As AI continues to reduce how much users rely on browsing, expectations continue to shift. People increasingly arrive expecting direct access to information and a faster path to taking action.

Bytowne and Fox Theatre needed a platform that could support programming, ticket access, and ongoing audience engagement without creating unnecessary complexity.

We redesigned the experience with conversion in mind, focusing on clearer navigation, simplified paths to showtimes, and reducing the number of steps between browsing and booking.

Both cinemas were brought onto a shared WordPress platform that created consistency across the experience while still allowing each location to maintain its own identity.

The result is a system that improves how users move through the site while making ongoing management easier for the team.

Hamlet isn’t on the team, but he still seems to have a role to play in the day-to-day.

Better known as Pug-boy, he belongs to Meagan and takes his responsibilities more seriously than most.

As Waste Disposal Officer, very little goes unnoticed. Every crumb and every dropped snack is dealt with immediately and with a level of commitment that suggests the role matters.

He’s equal parts cuddly and chaotic, usually accompanied by a running commentary of groans that seem to cover everything from hunger to mild inconvenience.

If the groaning starts to pick up, something probably needs attention, although what exactly that is tends to remain open to interpretation.

Most of his work stays indoors, but he still keeps an eye on people passing by and makes sure the day continues uninterrupted.

Campaigns built without context rarely create the outcome they’re intended to achieve.

Without a clear understanding of the audience, messaging becomes guesswork, design decisions become harder to align, and ex*****on slows down as teams spend more time revisiting decisions.

As AI continues to change how content is surfaced and consumed, clarity around who you’re speaking to becomes increasingly important. Generic messaging is becoming easier to ignore.

Persona research helps define who you’re speaking to before anything is created, giving direction to messaging, tone, and structure so decisions become less subjective.

With that clarity in place, campaigns become more focused and easier to execute across channels.

The work moves faster, and the message lands more clearly.
