We are thrilled to welcome Greg Van Bastelaar to the 1dea team as our new Account Manager! 🎉

Greg brings extensive experience managing client relationships, digital projects and cross-functional teams. Most recently, he spent nine years leading client success at a web development agency, overseeing projects from initial planning through delivery, launch, and ongoing support. Combined with formal project management and Agile training, Greg brings a thoughtful, organized approach to keeping projects, people and priorities moving forward.

Before moving into the digital agency world, Greg spent 15 years working in the music industry. A guitar player since he was 13, he now channels his love of music, electronics and building things into Axewerx, where he designs and builds his own guitar pedals. 🎸

When he isn't making music or tinkering with his latest build, Greg enjoys getting outdoors and exploring with his family and dog, so it's safe to say he'll fit right in with the dog-loving crew at 1dea. 🐾

Marketers have access to more information than ever before, from website analytics and search behaviour to audience research, competitor insights and years of internal knowledge.

But having more information doesn't automatically make it easier to create better content. The challenge is making sense of it all, understanding which signals actually matter and connecting those insights in a way that informs what you create.

The goal isn't to use every piece of data available. It's to identify what matters and use it to make better content decisions.

AI is changing how quickly we can research, organize information, explore ideas, and move through parts of the creative process. Used thoughtfully, it can make the work more efficient and give us more information and possibilities to work with.

But more information and faster outputs don't automatically lead to better marketing. Understanding the audience, recognizing what matters, questioning assumptions, and choosing the right direction still require context, experience, and human judgment.

That's where we see the real opportunity with AI: using it to expand what's possible while keeping people responsible for the thinking that gives the work meaning. As the tools continue to evolve, how we work will evolve too, but the need for a strong strategic foundation doesn't change.

Today we're celebrating two years of Becca at 1dea!

Over the past two years, Becca has continued to grow into an integral part of our creative team. This year especially, she's stepped up in a big way, taking on more responsibility across client design work, including website design and social media, while continuing to bring creativity and care to everything she takes on.

Becca is bubbly, funny, always willing to help, and someone our team can count on to jump in wherever she's needed. It's been great to see her confidence and skill set continue to grow as she's taken on more this year.

Outside of work, Becca is an avid reader who always seems to have another book on the go. She also loves travelling, exploring new places, and spending time with her husband and family.

We're so glad to have you as part of the team, Becca. Happy two years!

Two years of Kelsy at 1dea! 🎉

Over the past two years, Kelsy has become an incredibly important part of how our team and our client relationships run. As our Account Director, she has taken on an ever-growing client load while continuing to bring the same level of care, organization, and attention to every account she manages.

She's also the person making sure the rest of us know what needs to happen and when. From keeping our never-ending lists in order and creating touchpoints for the team to making sure work is moving forward thoroughly, Kelsy has a knack for keeping a lot of moving pieces on track without losing sight of the people involved.

Her ability to guide clients, support the team, and keep everything moving is a huge part of what makes her so valuable to 1dea. Add in her sense of humour and personality, and we're very lucky to have her.
