🎬One very useful tool of the DXA-MAX audio adapter is the bracketing feature.

➡️A common problem people often run into is getting distorted audio when the levels suddenly change and become too hot.

To prevent this, you can use a simple technique called bracketing to set the second channel at a lower level to serve as a backup.

1) Connect your mono microphone to the adapter and be sure to set the OUTPUT switch to MONO to record to both channels.

2) Do a sound check and set the primary channel to read no more then 0dB on the VU meter

3) Set the backup channel to a lower level of about -12dB on the VU meter

You are now set to record audio.

When you do the playback and if you find that the primary channel is distorted in any way, you can simply switch to the backup channel which should be clean.

This simple technique will ensure you always have a usable audio track.

Now you won't have to worry if the primary channel gets blown out because you'll have a second source.
