This month's Augmentt update touches four areas MSPs manage every day: Teams, Purview DLP, Defender, and Exchange Online Protection.

Teams policies for meetings, messaging, channels, and external access can now be templated and pushed across clients instead of configured tenant by tenant. Purview DLP coverage expands to Copilot, Foundry, Power BI, managed cloud apps, and inline web traffic, alongside new retention policies and sensitivity labels. And all 34 Defender EOP checks get per-check configuration through a wizard, with two new email security checks added to posture monitoring.

Every MSP has a version of the same question: how do I find out what AI my clients' staff are actually using?

The tools advertising shadow AI visibility mostly read from Microsoft 365. They show you the apps authorized in the tenant and the apps installed on the machine. That is the AI your client already told you about.

The usage that creates the risk is the usage nobody registered. Free tier, personal account, browser tab, gone in ten minutes. It never touches the tenant and never hits the install list, so a Microsoft-only view reports nothing, and then you report nothing.

Augmentt's Discover agent collects browser activity from the device, which is how it picks up the random AI site someone pasted a client contract into. Deploy through your RMM or Intune, licensed per user. The new AI Risk Report brings that alongside your Microsoft-side AI risk, and you can set an alert for when a new or restricted app appears. The same agent surfaces the shadow SaaS nobody is tracking, including the forgotten subscriptions still billing.
