When your sister gets married, being behind the lens is a whole different feeling.

We made the drive up to Beaverlodge, AB for Breanna and Spencer's wedding, and honestly, you just can't fake the way these two look at each other. The love between them is so clear and effortless, it made capturing their day absolute magic.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to Whitney Longhurst with Long Run Media for making the trek up north with me. Having a close colleague and friend by my side to help shoot such an important family milestone meant more than I can say.

Breanna and Spencer, I love you guys so much. So honoured I got to capture this for you. 🤍

I’m still coming back to look at this shot. Seeing grass this insanely green in Central Alberta in mid-August is rare enough on its own, but pairing that with those heavy storm clouds rolling in made for some incredible light over the pasture.

Days like this behind the lens are hard to beat. 🖤

Sale picture day doesn't have to be a headache.

After spending plenty of time in picture pens over the years, I’ve found that a little prep before the camera even comes out makes a world of difference for both the cattle and the crew.

I really enjoyed getting to work on this logo for MLT Land & Cattle.

They wanted a classic look built around a cow-calf pair with their "MLT" brand, and it came together really nice. Appreciate the MLT crew for having me do this for them!

I’ve had a lot of fun branding projects on my desk lately, so I'm only taking on a limited number of logo design clients for the rest of the season. If you've been thinking about getting a logo put together for your herd or business, send a message anytime and we can chat about options.

It was a scorcher in Perdue, but as usual, the cattle and the people made it worth every minute. 🌾

Huge thank you to the Perdue committee, the ring crew, and the judge who worked hard in the heat to keep things moving, and made sure everyone stayed hydrated. It’s always a privilege capturing the work you all put into these cattle.

Calm before the storm. 🌩️✨

The full Perdue Cattle Show gallery is almost complete, but I couldn't resist sharing a little sneak peek of what’s to come.

Looking through these photos reminds me just how lucky I am to do what I do. Events like this don’t just happen, they are built on the countless hours of a phenomenal committee that works tirelessly behind the scenes. Thank you so much to the Perdue Agricultural Society for having Sage & Soil Media out to capture the magic this year.

A special shoutout to our judge, Jon Fox, and the two ringmen. Keeping the ring moving smoothly and keeping the energy up through the absolute heat of the day was no easy task, and they did an incredible job.

A massive thank you as well to all the generous sponsors who stepped up to make this show possible for the exhibitors, and to everyone who stopped to chat and supported my work. Our stock show community is truly one of a kind.
