A real quick explanation on how Deepfakes (or image generation in general) is becoming so good at being believable. What might seem like a fun recreation or rendition from generative AI - ultimately becomes a part of the toolbox to create nefarious and misleading content. Think before you AI. ⛔️

Attention Office365 / Microsoft365 users!

Microsoft's most recent pushed update breaks Outlook's email viewer, you'll know you are affected if you see a part of or some formatting of an email that doesn't complete.

Microsoft is looking into this, but there is a quick + temporary fix available:
1) Press CTRL + R on your keyboard.
2) Type CMD then press enter.
3) Copy and paste (right-click) the following into the command window: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.13901.20462
4) Press enter, and the Office Updater will rollback the update to the previous version. This could take some time, but you should have full function back once it completes.

Pass this along if you know someone who uses the latest version of Office365 / Microsoft365. If you need additional help, feel free to reach out or give me a call!

PSA Time! Phishing messages are currently circulating again, and it is a good time for a few reminders! (Long post, but worth the read!)

1) Random, out-of-the-blue link messages from your friends or loved ones with no context should be questioned! A quick message back to the sender to verify if they sent it intentionally should clear the water!
2) If you recognize that the message is a Phishing message, inform the person directly (and without any shaming) as soon as possible. Use another method of messaging if you want to be extra sure!
3) If you fall for a Phishing attack (what we call them in the tech-sphere), do not panic and do not hit that self-destruct button! Do the following:
i. Change the compromised Password on all places used. That password is no good and should never be reused.
ii. Inform your followers / friends by making a post informing them of the mistake and be prepared for a little friendly banter.
iii. You cannot delete the message from other inboxes, bummer but don't fret. If anyone else did click the link, point them to this message (or share it to them) and reassure them that this happens!

At the end of the day the Internet is the Wild West and we are simply only human! Help spread the word, share this post with your friends and maybe give this page a like / follow while you are at it! If you have any questions or concerns, or want to know more, post a comment or send me a message! I'm happy to help!
