I want to fill yas in on the “cancellation list”.
Summer season is pretty much here, which means the schedule is filling up fast and I'm booked out a few months. I need to clear up how the schedule works, because trying to bypass the wait times isn't going to get you in the chair any faster.
When you tell me you only want to be on a cancellation and not book, all I hear is that I’m not worth the wait. I get it, I don’t want to wait for stuff either.
Here is how the system works from now on:
1. Secure a "For Sure" Spot First
The absolute best way to get tattooed is to put a confirmed date on the calendar. Ironically, because of how fluid schedules are, if you actually commit and book an appointment a few months out, your date will almost always come up faster than sitting around waiting for a random opening.
2. The Cancellation List Rules
I absolutely keep a cancellation list, but priority always goes to the clients who already have an appointment booked. If a spot opens up early, it gets offered to the folks already on the schedule first. If you refuse to book a spot, you are at the absolute bottom of the list.
Booking an appointment shows me you respect my time and my craft. Pushing for a shortcut won't bump you to the front of the line.
