Ooooh let’s start the weekend off proper with some Switch titles!

We’ve got thee incredible Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, already jam packed with so many racers and tracks right off the hop but if you pick up the Booster Course Pass DLC you can unlock oh I
dunno… 48 more tracks! On top of that you also get 8 characters with the likes of Birdo, Kamek, Funky Kong and Pauline joining the cast.

Next we’ve got the Atari 50 the Anniversary Celebration Expanded Edition. You know we like compilation games up in here and this might be one of the most ridiculous ones yet. This game comes with 148 titles, across many Atari consoles like the 2600, 5200, Lynx, Jaguar and Arcade. It’s got all the classics like Asteroids, Centipede, Pong, Berzerk, Air Raiders, Yars Revenge and obviously much much much more. If you want to lock down a piece of gaming history in one convenient cart, this would be the way to do it.

‘Ello, what’s all this then?

Just want to toss up a few cool “across the pond” new additions, we’ve got PAL/Euro region copies of Advance Wars Dark Conflict (Days of Ruin over here for us) and Pokemon HeartGold. Both have been stressfully checked out, tested and are ready to go.

But on a more serious note we did just have a really car accident happen outside the shop right at the corner of King and Macklin, locking traffic down to a single lane. So if you are planning on
coming down please keep that in mind as it’s a bit of a standstill right now. Don’t want to speak on behalf of any of the people involved, so just wishing them all the best too.

Is everybody ready? Do you all have your… 3D GLAAAASSES!?

We’ve got the fantastic 7th gen trio of Arkham games, normally we’d say trilogy but Origins is not actually a true part of the Arkham Trilogy and you’d need to move up to the PS4 and Xbox
One for Arkham Knight to complete it.

We’ve got the first game in the series with a little bonus, the Game of the Year version of Arkham Asylum does include classic Trioviz anaglyph style 3D glasses so you can experience one of the best super hero games from a whole new point of view :D

Next we’ve got the standard Arkham City which carried on the quality of the series, brought in a bunch of new villains that were missing from the original game and opened the game up to
more of an open world style gameplay hence the “City”. A top notch follow up to Asylum, and you could make the experience even better with that fancy new Arkham City strategy guide we
posted a while ago ;)

If it wasn’t for the 3D glasses we’d probably have given this the spotlight, it’s the black sheep of the family Arkham Origins! This one is actually made by WB Games Montreal and is a prequel to the whole series. You play as a younger, less experienced Batman who has to go up against some old familiar and new villains from his rogue’s gallery after Black Mask places a bounty on his head. While this one didn’t get as much love from the fans not being made by Rocksteady, it has now went on to have a bit of cult hit, underappreciated status amongst the collectors.

Oooooh now this is a trio of Switch titles that could ruin all your free time :D

Whether you’re squaring off with up to 8 players in the craziest, most character jam packed Smash Bros of all time in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, jumping unsuspecting Pokemon trainers in the streets of Lumiose City in Pokemon Legends Z-A, or building your perfect paradise island with your favorite villagers in Animal Crossing New Horizons, you’re going to have an absolutely fantastic time with any of these classic Switch games.

Two of these titles get even better too, if you have a Switch 2 you can buy the digital upgrade pack for both Animal Crossing and Pokemon. Both games get generally improved loading times and smoother performance while also outputting at a higher resolution, Animal Crossing also
benefits from mouse controls for easier decorating and includes the megaphone item so you can shout out your favorite villager with the Switch 2 microphone to find them easier on your island.

When you’re playing a fighting game as legendary as Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 you need a controller with just as much quality, and that’s where Hori’s awesome Fighting Commander comes in.

After being stuck in PS3/360 physical only limbo after being removed from the online store fronts Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 eventually got a re-release on PS4 and Xbox One, thankfully both physically and digitally for those poor tournament hosts that had to load it up on every system. This comes jam packed with the original roster, with the Jill Valentine and Shuma Gorath DLC and all the costumes except for Magneto’s “House of M” design. UMVC3 is so
damn good that even hitting the lab to practice combos feels fun and exciting. You can try your luck with some of the iconic tourney teams like Kane Blue River’s heavy hitters Hulk, Sentinel and Haggar, or the “Zero May Cry” Zero, Dante and anchor Vergil to make your opponent regret eliminating your other characters ;D

The Hori Fighting Commander would actually be perfect for UMVC3 with the 6 face button layout since the game by default only has Light, Medium, Heavy, Launcher and 2 Assist buttons. Combined with the fantastic feeling D-pad, the Left Trigger/Bumper buttons and the programmable L3 and R3 buttons on the other side give you plenty of setup and layout options. An added bonus with this controller is that it is compatible with the Xbox One/Series X, PC and
even the Xbox 360! So whether you’re moving up to the next/current gen of consoles or going back to the 7th Gen, it’s got you covered.

Alright let’s get this up quick while there’s a break in the action… got a fantastic duo of family friendly PS5 titles hitting the shelf, it’s Astro Bot and Sackboy’s Big Adventure!

Astro Bot is a single player only title but damn it is a fantastic game to experience. From the many many throwbacks to Playstation’s rich history, but also to really see all the tiny details and features that the Dual Sense controller gets to show off in a title like this.

Sackboy A Big Adventure on the other hand is bringing some couch co-op quality to the table with up to four players able to partake at the same time, both in the regular story mode or in multiplayer specific levels. While they did get rid of the Little Big Planet creation aspect, Sackboy gets a chance to shine in a solid classic 3D action platformer style game.

We’re big in Japan! It might take a while but we’ve got a big stock of Famicom and Super Famicom games hitting the shelves!

We got some wild variety here… from Sumo and Shonen Jump’s Slam Dunk which are more like simulator/manager games, a charming board/card style wrestling game featuring Giant Baba and the cast of AJPW, Japanese copies of both Stunt Race FX and Mickey’s Magical Adventure and of course… Bastard!!

Just to be safe we obviously got to disclaim that we can’t guarantee playability due to language barrier issues, especially for some of the more text heavy games like Yokozuna Monogatari, so please just keep that in mind if you’re throwing caution to the wind on some of these titles :)

Oooooh we got that snazzy Final Fantasy XII-2 Collector’s edition guide book in a bit ago, why not crack it open by doing a run through of the whole trilogy, we’ve got Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lighting Returns Final Fantasy XIII for the PS3 hitting the shelves!

We tend to sell out of XIII-2 and Lightning Returns pretty quick so come on by and check ‘em out if you’ve been meaning to add them to your collection :D

…seriously there’s not much to really say or add here. Easily some of the best SNES games to ever be released, easily on the top of fan lists as the best of their respective series.

EDIT: Sakuna has Sold.

We’ve got a trio o’ Switch titles hitting the shelves just in time for the weekend, let’s gooo!

Show off just how skilled an apprentice you are in Star Wars the Force Unleashed Limited Run release. This is a bit of an odd one, it’s actually a remaster of the PS2/Wii edition? So it does run at 60fps but apparently has simpler visuals upscaled compared to if they based it off the 360/PS3 versions. It also has simpler physics too so we gotta imagine that opening stage where you’re throwing Wookies around with the force push might look a bit jankier. Luckily it does include the multiplayer 1v1 duel mode and you can use your Joy-Cons for lightsaber motion controls.

Fighting demons and harvesting grain never looked or played this good before, it’s Sakuna of Rice and Ruin! You play as spoiled princess Sakuna tasked to clear an island of demons and take care of the lowly humans at the same time. You’ll battle enemies in beautiful 2.5 3D stages, then take to the rice fields to plant and harvest rice which is the source of your powers and upgrades. It’s stylish, cute and a very unique premise that is definitely worth checking out.

Lastly we’ve got Super Mario Party Jamboree! Get ready for that usual Mario Party chaos with 3 of your friends with 7 different boards and 112 minigames to compete in. An added bonus of this game is there is a paid digital upgrade available through the Nintendo eShop to bring it up to the Switch 2 version, which includes a visual resolution upgrade, microphone and mouse controllers, and the new Jamboree TV show mode hosted by Toad :D
