** NOTICE OF CLOSURE**

July 1, 2020.

Dear Valued Clients of OMNI PC. After 6 years of offering computer repair and IT services to the Lakeland, we have come to an end. With the problems associated with at-home / on-site tech support during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been difficult to remain economically viable.

Effective July 31, 2020 OMNI PC will be ending all residential service. Business clients who wish to remain can make arrangements with Chris to move forward with remote repair options (i.e. via team viewer).

We're receiving more frequent requests for home computer repairs this week, as people are relying on their computers more and more for work and entertainment while stuck at home. We will do everything we can to assist, but please understand that on site tech support cannot resume until we are told it is safe to do so. Please be safe and stay healthy.

Today is the last day Microsoft will support Windows 7. This means that tomorrow your system will be at a greater risk for malicious activity, as any security issues found in the operating system will be exploited and will not be patched my Microsoft. I would not recommend online banking or purchases using Windows 7 as of tomorrow.

Make sure you have a plan to upgrade to Windows 10, or better yet - give us a call and we can do it for you. Many systems can be upgraded without any loss of programs or data. We can have you up to date in no time.

We had a few calls yesterday about Facebook not working on clients computers and phones. Looks like it was a massive outage spanning across all Facebook owned platforms including Instagram and whatsapp. The good news is its back up and running. Read more about it by clicking the link below!

Even OMNI PC can have computer problems! Our office system randomly failed, and neither automatic repair nor system restore could fix the issue. Luckily, we back up our files daily but will need to reinstall all our software. A pain in the butt for sure, but it could have been worse. Moral of the story is: your computer will eventually fail at one point, regardless of your skill level with computers. Have a back up system in place and be prepared! If you don't know where to start, give us a call and we'll take care of everything.
