📣Victim Services Wellington is onboarding for a new REMOTE volunteer opportunity!

We are looking for individuals who receive inbound calls from Emergency services and will be responsible for dispatching calls out to our current direct service volunteers. This role is done completely remotely. You must have access to your own computer and cell phone. All necessary training will be provided as well as partnership with experienced dispatchers during your shifts. Must be available/willing to be on call evenings, overnights, and weekends. Must sign up for one shift block per month.

Expectations when on call include: Ability to answer phone, record all information provided and relay accurately to volunteers and provide any support/assistance needed while they are on scene. Reporting information to VSW staff.

This role does not include direct service of victims. Minimum of 1 year commitment required, and applicants must be minimum 20 years of age.

BMW owners are criticizing the automaker after it pushed a Spider-Man Brand New Day promotion onto dashboard screens in cars they already own, calling the move intrusive.

The ad appears as a startup banner on eligible BMWs built after July 2020. Drivers can tap it to launch a 19-second animation with music and synchronized ambient lighting.

BMW says the animation never plays automatically, but owners argue they still shouldn’t see advertisements inside vehicles they purchased for $50,000 to $100,000.
