As an Indigenous organization, we know that Truth and Reconciliation carries both sorrow and hope.

We recognize the heartache that comes from generations of harm, the truths that are difficult to face, and the ongoing impacts of colonization that Indigenous communities continue to experience. We also know the strength that comes from our cultures, our teachings, and our people.

Today, we honour Survivors, we remember the children who never returned home, and we acknowledge the families and communities forever changed by these experiences.

May we all continue to listen with open hearts, learn with humility, and take meaningful action toward reconciliation every day of the year.

How we’re honouring Truth and Reconciliation in September:

For the second year in a row, team members at Saltmedia and IT Horizons will be taking part in the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation's Truth and Reconciliation Week Lunch & Learn series. These sessions are open to the public and focus on learning, reflection, and understanding the ongoing impacts of residential schools and colonialism.

As small businesses, we want to create space for learning, meaningful conversations, and action when it comes to reconciliation. That's why we're paying our team to attend these sessions, and afterwards, we'll come together to share what we've learned and discuss how we can continue to take action in our work and our communities.

Open to all schools across Canada, this education portal supports free, age-appropriate, education curriculums for students in grades 1-12. Registration is required.
