Octave Nomad HDR/FM Analyzer 3.3 is now available!

Version 3.3 is packed with new features that we have worked on over the past year. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s included:

New RDS-PI Based Features

RDS-PI values are now available in most Nomad UI controls, including in metric graphs, overlays, maps, and tables in both the main UI and Campaign Player for both the current and previous values. In addition, RDS-PI report graphs and RDS-PI comparative reports are now available.

Split Campaign

Nomad users can now split campaigns by either trimming the first and/or last campaign points or remove unwanted points in the middle of it. And just like in the Merge Campaign feature, the resulting split campaign is a copy, so the original measurements are not lost.

In addition, measurement data can also be filtered by date and time at the channel level while generating reports if the campaign doesn’t need to be permanently split.

A/B Map Compare in Campaign Player

An A/B button was added in the Campaign Player Map control to enable swapping between the current and previous data, which can be swapped independently of the A/B audio playback.

Map Centering Options

Two buttons were added to the lower right corner of the map control in the main UI. Toggling the upper one (a blue map icon) will disable the re-centering of the map, giving manual control of the map view. The lower one toggles between “Always Centered” (target icon) and “Smart Snap” (blue car) centering modes to the user’s preference.

Performance Improvements

Performance was significantly improved across the application, including when splitting/merging campaigns, generating reports, and in the main UI.

Other Enhancements and Fixes

• Campaign and Report “Previous Campaign” ChannelData files can now be selected independently.
• Tooltips on the metric table entries have been added.
• Better handling of invalid values in maps and graphs.
• Many other bug fixes

And all of these are building on top of all the new features that were added in 3.1 and 3.2:
• Extend FM frequencies to include 87.5MHz
• Adding support for Inovonics 645 and 648
• Adjusting GPS handling for better user experience
• Added support for Columbus P-9 Race GPS device
• Support for Line Driver and Antenna profiles with non-equidistant data points
• Support for Read-Only license keys
• Adding support for multiple AUX devices
• Adding Lite Mode support for Standard and Ultra licenses

Octave Communications’ new Nomad HDR/FM Analyzer 3 is now released!

As you have experienced over the last years, Nomad HDR/FM Analyzer 2 has greatly evolved since its original release and is now the most performant FM and HD Radio™ measurement system. For the past months, our team has been working hard on long awaited features which includes improved interface, new receiver support (Inovonics 551/552) and new “create your own” report generating functions, amongst others. Nomad is still the only software capable of synchronizing FM transmitters (like GeoBroadcast Solutions: MaxxCasting technology).

The commission will allow FM radio stations in the United States to originate programming on boosters for a limited amount of time every hour, something they currently are not allowed to do.

Moving CHIN AM to CHLO site in Brampton. Octave completed the construction of 1540 filter for CHLO, the tower tuning circuit for CHIN and the transmitter frequency retuning to 1540 kHz. Thanks to Evanov, CHIN, GTI and Hahn Broadcast for help and support.

The 10 kW / 0 W reflected / 50 ohm matched transmitter output into the antenna came with a smile from the client 😀. Especially that all was completed in 3 days.

The new Nomad Ultra performing its first full market monitoring (24 independent stations, powered by Inovonics Broadcast INOmini 638 receivers) in the San Francisco market for Geobroadcast Solutions.

Now testing the new Octave Nomad HDR/FM Analyzer Ultra built for Geobroadcast Solutions to perform full market monitoring. A single system is capable to record 12 stations simultaneously (here displaying 2 kits for 24 stations) with audio, RF levels and all metrics (thanks to Inovonics INOmini 638 streamer/receivers).

Nous testons présentement le nouveau Octave Nomad HDR/FM Analyzer Ultra, construit pour Geobroadcast Solutions pour enregistrer au complet les stations d'un marché. Un système est capable de mesurer l'audio, le niveau RF et les métriques de 12 stations (ou 24 avec 2 kits comme sur la photo) simultanément (grâce au récepteur/streamer INOmini638 de la compagnie Inovonics).
