Since May this year, Alain has been ill with an undiagnosed condition affecting his adrenal system causing a plethora of symptoms affecting his quality of life. In the medical system in Alberta, they misdiagnosed his condition and prolonged his suffering unnecessarily. The system ultimately failed him. After 4 months of neglect and attempting to work with doctors in Grande Prairie, Edmonton and Calgary, my parents decided to seek help elsewhere with more conclusive answers and better management.

The nurses in Peace River and McLennan were very kind and hard working, they took care of Alain to the best of their ability. Our family is thankful to them, and Alain’s family doctor, Dr. Dewet.

Alain and Laurie went to a clinic in Mexico that had promising testimonials and my father was steadily getting better. Unfortunately, his condition grew worse near the end of his stay causing him to go to the hospital near said clinic. The doctors have done proper testing and are working towards a conclusive answer as to what is happening to him. They noted that the system in Alberta ultimately mismanaged his case and did not provide the adequate testing to figure out his condition.

Alain and Laurie are very active members of their community bringing IT services to the Smoky River Region and helping others around them in their community. They have made a huge positive impact on many people’s lives around them. A lot of the people in need of help that came through our door always left with a lifted spirits and a renewed sense of purpose in their life. They are kind people who have been put in an extremely challenging situation. We please ask of you to help us now in which ever way you can, such as contributing to this fundraiser.
