An introduction - to new friends and followers, students and pals I have not seen for ages XOX
A lifetime of creative career: illustration, fine art, graphic design and public art (and MANY jobs to fill the needful gaps in between)
I started doing commercial work at age 16.
Now at 68 - I haven't stopped altogether but choose my projects thoughtfully.
I started teaching classes at age 22. Not in a public school setting - but adult education, workshops and programs for arts organizations. Far more satisfying than herding teenagers :-)
And all this time I have been wandering.
Painting and creating.
Sketching since I was about 8 yrs old.
Drawing obsessively ever since.
I work in Acrylic, Gouache & watercolor, and also trained as a printmaker.
Inspired by the Group of Seven, AJ Casson and the impressionists in general.
Working plein air is like my meditation. It gives me solace, feeds my curiosity, inspires & informs my creative process back in the studio.
So here I am wandering again. Between bouts of grief, eldercare & aging woes.
Currently in Croatia (my first time)
Soaking up the sun, navigating ancient stone cobbles and squinting at the gleaming turquoise sea. Yes - there be sparkles ;-)
I don't do selfies... so thanks to Mike on the ferry from Split to Trogir - who took this headshot and sent it to me.

And I love long afternoon shadow. Out with my sketching sac & walking stick.
