We offer a collaborative, fun and approachable way of working with our clients. Whether they are seeking a new brand identity, an innovative and agile digital presence or an entire branding campaign, we ensure their needs are met with efficiency and great style. Since then, we are proud to say that we are small enough to be responsive, but big enough to carry weight in the world of branding and marketing. It comes down to our moral code. Kindness comes in many forms, but in business it means listening to a client with compassion and authenticity. It also translates into respecting the demanding lives they have as leaders in business, non-profits, industry and new digital spaces. What else? We lead by example doing pro bono work and volunteering as community builders. Work hard. Or maybe we should say, ‘work smart’. We have developed a simple, streamlined creative process that is both collaborative and cost-effective. It works because we are a small, dedicated team of talented, highly-skilled professionals who believe more in making a difference to a client’s business than in billable hours. There, we said it. Stay excellent. What is excellence in graphic design? It’s nothing less than being able to sleep at night, knowing we have done great work with integrity. It even comes through in our workplace, a converted heritage building where our small team (and office dog) are in constant, collaborative communication with each other to achieve creative greatness. Partage Beachwood took place this August under the majestic trees in the Beechwood Cemetery. This year’s magical Moroccan themed long table dinner served over 200 gracious guests.

I had the distinct privilege of designing the concept and promotional material (menus, place cards, emailer, signage) for this incredibly generous event. As well as the very cool spice boxes - gifts from Festival Promotions.

Thank you to at for taking the concept and weaving the website. Lovely!

This year’s sellout event was designed by the one and only event design, the menu and food made by (love seeing you in that logo tshirt 😉) and crew, the service team coordinated by and the entire event envisioned by the incredible Executive Director of .

👏 Bravo to the whole team and guests for raising $80,000 for the Partage Vanier Food Bank! 👏 Mission accomplished!

Many moons ago (okay like 17 years ago) we were asked to design a logo for a new vegetarian restaurant opening in Wakefield, Québec.

Una McDonnell, the visionary owner, had something in mind. We were able to bring that vision to life in a way that astonished Una. Isn't it great when that happens?

Through a combination of custom illustration and textured fills the owl has become a well known symbol for Café Le Hibou.

When the café developed the Hibou Chez Vous line of frozen take-home foods, sauces and desserts we worked in collaboration with artist Andrea Stokes to create eye catching, original packaging for 20+ items, also adapting the owl to site with the new name.

Most recently we redesigned the menus starting with food and ending with drinks, craft beers and dessert.

If you haven't been in a while, or ever, now is a wonderful time of year to visit Wakefield and Le Hibou for brunch, lunch or dinner.

A fun project from earlier this summer

Holy Guacamole wasn't feeling like the original logo was pulling its weight... so they asked me to redesign it.

The name is fun! Mexican food is fresh and delish! Ergo I felt the logo deserved an inspired update!

I reimagined the logo from the ground up using interesting yet playful hand-drawn lettering with some great ligatures, an avocado illustration with a touch of filigree detailing, and a palette that skips the red-and-yellow cliché every other taco spot uses.

The result is a mark that is playful without being cartoony and reflects the colour of fresh food in its palette. After all we eat with our eyes first!

Last Thursday was a magical night ✨ in Manotick.

The inaugural Founders Table - a 200 person long table dinner was held in front of Watson’s Mill in Manotick.

This sold out fundraiser was in support of historic Watson’s Mill - the oldest working gristmill in North America.

BirdDog Design was privileged to work with the Manotick BIA on the promotional design for the event producing the promotional concept, menus, digital assets, and signage to complement the incredible event decor dreamed up by Sharon Bosley House at Avant Garde Designs.

A special thanks and huge. Congratulations goes out to Kelly Belair, the executive Director of the Manotick BIA and to Shannon Giust of Watson’s Mill. You did it 🙌

It was wonderful to see so many turnout to support this first event so many happy familiar faces!

Do you like to be surprised? I know I do.

I was thrilled when I stopped in at today and noticed the beautiful boxes on the counter.

A cardboard box embellished with white ink, a handmade logo and beautiful florals turns into a delightful surprise for the receiver. Not to mention what’s on the inside…

Oh, and then, the pretty gift card that slides out of this lovely sleeve with pale pink and sage green.

Honestly, what could be nicer for Valentine’s Day? (OK… any excuse to be gifted products from Oresta 😉) but still, I wanted to make the packaging as beautiful and inspired as the store, the wonderful women who work there, Oresta herself and the products she chooses to carry. Because she puts a lot of thought and effort into what’s in her store. And I know she loves her clients and wants them to be delighted.
