A little behind-the-scenes look at the design decisions that went into this custom corporate retreat brochure for HĪRĀ Wellness.

✨ The fold: The brochure opens up to reveal illustrated layouts of the property, showing each building, its purpose, and how the different facilities can be used for corporate retreats.

✨ The finish: I chose a heavier cardstock with a matte finish because this isn't something I want getting crushed at the bottom of someone's purse after a vendor fair. It's designed to feel substantial, hold its shape, and be worth keeping.

✨ The pricing: I intentionally left prices out. Corporate retreats aren't one-size-fits-all, and HĪRĀ offers customized experiences. Leaving pricing off gives them the flexibility to create packages based on each group's needs rather than locking themselves into a standard rate.

Every choice was intentional, from the paper stock to the way the information unfolds.

Good Design is about understanding how a business works, who it's trying to reach, and what the marketing material needs to accomplish.

A Perfect example of knowing your why....

I learned a lot while working with Copyrightlaws.com, and one of the best parts of this project was how invested the client was in learning her new website.

Throughout the build, she took the time to understand the software. Now she can confidently make updates herself instead of paying someone every time something needs to change.

Yes, anyone can build a website with Wix or WordPress, but going in blind can be overwhelming.

Sometimes the best investment isn't just hiring someone to build your website. It's hiring someone who can take your ideas, turn them into something functional, and teach you how to manage it afterward.

My goal isn't to make clients dependent on me. It's to give them the tools and confidence to succeed on their own.

You copied your proposal into AI Awesome. Did it go well? You got a website, but is it live? Did it set up hosting, connect your domain, configure email, or set up contact forms? Was it mobile-friendly? Did it set up Google Console and Analytics? Was it even free? The invoice is coming.

I haven't posted in an embarrassingly long time, but I've been too busy to do it... and honestly, its been the best! 😅 Referrals work.

One of the projects that launched a couple of weeks ago was this beautiful website for , and I had an absolute blast working on it.

What I love most about this project is that Kerry was invested in understanding how her website works and learning how to make her own updates. The site was built so she can confidently manage and update it herself as her business grows, while still having a solid foundation that can expand alongside her.

That's what I hope for all of my clients, although it's never a requirement.

My goal isn't to create a website that traps someone into needing a developer forever. It's to create a professional online presence that supports growth while giving business owners the confidence and tools to manage their own space if they choose.

A few years ago, I was working full-time in the military. This a good reminder of why I wanted to build something with significantly less boot polishing.
