October 16 was the last post before things went quiet here, and I know that can look like things slowed down... but in reality, this is when everything speeds up.
For K-Cow Design, November through March is the busiest stretch of my entire year. It’s the season where everything converges at once. Fall show season with my family keeps us on the road and in the barn, Christmas comes in fast and full, and then our calving season begins in January, right as bull sale prep hits its peak.
This is the time of year where the work behind the scenes really takes over. Catalogues need to be built, photos need to be captured in between weather windows and chores, pedigrees and data need to be organized, and marketing pieces need to come together for bull sales and production sales that are months in the making.
It’s a stretch of long days, and a lot of juggling between cattle work and design work... but it’s also the part of the year that defines what I do. Every catalogue, every sale page, every photo, and every design piece is built right in the middle of this chaos, and that’s exactly how it has always been.
Because of that, social media often becomes the first thing to slow down. Not because the work isn’t happening, but because it’s happening everywhere else.
I’m still here, still designing, still photographing, still working with programs and producers, just more often behind the scenes than behind a screen posting on social media.
Once things settle back into a more steady rhythm very shortly, I’ll be back to sharing more of what’s going on day to day. Until then, I appreciate every client, every project, and every bit of support more than I can say.
Busy doesn’t even begin to describe it, but I wouldn’t trade this season for anything.
