Thanks to the community’s continued support, Big Wifi and Big Energy are now able to offer subsidized local food delivery for Calmar residents!
Small‑town restaurants can’t afford full‑time drivers, and apps like Skip & Uber Eats often double the cost with fees — if a driver even accepts the order. Delivery can take 60–120 minutes, and drivers usually come from Leduc.
That ends now.
🌐 A New Local Delivery Service for Calmar, Tofield & Athabasca
As part of a new global cloud services app from Big Wifi and Big Energy, we’re launching a local-only delivery network funded directly by Big Wifi.
This means:
Faster delivery from local businesses
Lower fees than Skip/Uber
Drivers dedicated only to your town
No more waiting for someone to come from the city
No more ignored orders during peak times
Small-town restaurants can’t maintain a high‑availability driver alone — but shared across all local businesses, it becomes sustainable.
Big Wifi & Big Energy will hire local drivers and guarantee minimum wage, ensuring drivers are always available even during slow periods.
🚀 Pilot Program Features
1️⃣ Guaranteed minimum pay + employment for 1–3 local residents (plus a backup driver)
2️⃣ Fast delivery — usually under 30 minutes
3️⃣ Food + other local business delivery
4️⃣ Short rural delivery up to 5 km from town
5️⃣ Online ordering inside the new Big Wifi App
6️⃣ Increased sales for local businesses
7️⃣ Limited Leduc Common pickup (one trip daily for orders placed before 4:30 PM)
8️⃣ In‑town delivery: $4
9️⃣ Rural delivery: $1/km

If the pilot shows strong interest after 6 months, we will continue year‑round, including winter, as long as local drivers are available. I was unable to post on the rant and rave they seem to not post my posts anymore I have a few pending. Please share this info if you can so I can gauge feedback better .
