TrustBIX Inc. Is Building Relationships to Support Indigenous Communities

Edmonton, Alberta--(Newsfile Corp. - September 24, 2024) - TrustBIX Inc. (TSXV: TBIX) ("TrustBIX" or the "Company") and Métis Settlements Development Corporation ("MSDC") are pleased to announce their commitment to creating a strategic partnership to assess opportunities for fostering food security in rural and remote communities, effective September 19, 2024. The collaboration aims to ensure year-round access to fresh produce, make better use of underutilized spaces, and create entrepreneurship and employment opportunities within these communities.

Barbara Engelbart McKenzie, CEO of MSDC, remarked, "MSDC is excited to be working with TrustBIX, a leader in agtech, and their Métis-owned and developed indoor farm technology. The focus of this partnership is to explore opportunities to advance economic reconciliation and build projects with indigenous communities. MSDC is building a portfolio focused on agriculture and agtech investments. Since first viewing this technology in 2023, we believe its leadership in indoor farming will create significant opportunities for rural and remote communities to access fresh food and the utilization of under used real estate."

Hubert Lau, CEO of TrustBIX, added, "We look forward to forging a strong relationship with MSDC. This partnership represents the first step in a series of initiatives aimed at leveraging our technology to create meaningful improvements in food security for communities across Canada."

Spent a wonderful evening with an old friend and mentor, Chief Willie Littlechild.

Some people may know him as an Alberta hockey hall of fame recipient, or World Master Games world record swimmer, or a former MP, or his work at the UN, or his work on Truth and Reconciliation, or as a lawyer. But when I asked him tonight of all of his achievements, what were some he was most proud of. He said it was his family. He loves his family and knows he could not be where he is today without them. Once on a family holiday, the tour guide/taxi driver referred to his family as the “happy family”. This is what he is most proud of.

I asked him what drove his success in so many fields. He answered. First, he was never focused on success and fame. But he wanted to get things done while having fun. Second, while growing up in the difficult circumstances in a residential school, he found the “Win Spirit”. He explained that if you remember the filling of the “Win Spirit”, you can use it to help you when you’re down or when you’re need to overcome a hurdle or just when you need to win.

In today’s world when so many people feel lonely, lost or helpless. These feelings could be a reflection of an emotional void that needs to be filled. The “Win Spirit” is an example of what could give meaning and hope to someone. We need to find ways to help find meaning and hope for people so they are not vulnerable to the enticement of temptations such as drugs or being in a gang.

As usual, I left our dinner feeling inspired to be a better person and continue to work hard not only for myself but for our communities. Thanks Chief Willie!

And on the way out, Superfan Magoo, stopped to say hello to Chief Willie :-)
