🎙️ Dycor General Manager Gilberto Garcia sits down with Joel Pelletier in the latest Stream-Flo of Consciousness episode to discuss a wide range of things the integration experts excel at.

Top of the list is the SmartVue™ intelligent valve controller that is featured on the Stream-Flo ESD-EHX, a smart emergency shutdown system that enables remote opening and closing, and partial stroke testing.

Because an emergency shutdown valve only gets one chance to close, it’s that partial stroke testing that makes sure it will. The SmartVue™ controller moves the valve about five per cent, measures the response in milliseconds, and flags a valve that's wearing out or starting to stick. Maintenance for it gets planned weeks ahead instead of being discovered in an emergency, when it’s too late.

Gilberto also covers:

• Redesigning the controller for Class I, Div 1, where a touchscreen isn't allowed
• Taking products built to CSA and UL standards into IECEx, ATEX and CE markets
• Why our controllers sit at the edge, with 8 to 20 configurable I/Os feeding SCADA or the cloud
• Windshield time, and why driving is the most hazardous part of the job
• Our partners FreeWave, Teltonika, and dataTaker
• Connecting to the systems customers already own, instead of replacing them

🎢 So, strap on in and get ready for a wide-ranging Dycor ride!

We are very excited to announce that Dycor has received the prestigious Value-Added Reseller (VAR) title from Teltonika. This VAR designation and the strong partnership with Teltonika it stems from enables us to deliver exactly what the title says to our customers in Canada. Our team of experts will enhance the value of Teltonika’s industrial networking line thanks to the in-house technical support and integration expertise they provide for the Teltonika products we are proud to stock and sell. The added support will enable even better connectivity for the remote oil and gas and energy operations our customers primarily use Teltonika’s solutions for.

“Our customers don’t just need a router. They need it specified, integrated, and supported for the realities of the field,” said Dycor General Manager Gilberto Garcia following the VAR designation. “As an Official Teltonika VAR, Dycor pairs Teltonika’s proven industrial connectivity with the in-house engineering, local stock, and warranty support we’ve delivered for more than 40 years. For operators running remote oil and gas and energy sites across Canada, that means faster access to the right hardware and a partner who stands behind it.”

“Dycor’s designation as an Official Teltonika Value-Added Reseller is a strong reflection of the value they bring to customers across Western Canada,” said Teltonika Networks Channel Manager Jason MacDonald. “Their engineering expertise, local availability, and deep understanding of remote industrial applications make them an ideal partner for delivering Teltonika’s connectivity solutions into demanding oil and gas and energy environments. We look forward to building on this partnership and helping more Canadian customers deploy reliable, secure, and purpose-built connectivity in the field.”

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day! As we mark this celebratory day which recognizes the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding contributions of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, it is important we acknowledge our own infancy in fully understanding and engaging in a meaningful way with the Indigenous people where we live and work. We approach this important task with open ears, so we may hear how to best achieve actual reconciliation. The steps are many to this goal but we are earnestly taking them, with yet only the first few behind us. We look forward to where the proceeding ones will bring us, and the relationships we will make because of them.
